Oh so that is why you didn't respond to my message. I thought that it was because you didn't like me anymore Wink No I am not having the same issue. Hope they (site admin) get yours worked out.

I had a msg in my inbox that I didn't realize b/c it said it was already read. Then the next one alerted me, followed by another new, unread msg that was showing as read. Also when I sent someone a msg, they didn't know how it was read when they didn't even know it was there. So something IS going on w/ the msgs. Don't really have any advise except to check regularly I guess.

Check, and recheck your inbox and outboxes. FS has had a real problem with this in the past 3 weeks. From deleted messages, to errant postings, and omissions...one can only wonder what is going on, and how many messages have been lost.

Thank goodness its not just me! I had a message marked read (from Janisha^^^ lol) that I didnt even know I got, then I got another message and got alerted. Then just a few minutes ago, I got another new message, no alert pop up, but it showed up at the right hand corner of my page. Weird. LOL

The really odd thing is I usually keep my inbox empty so I usually don't let msgs go unnoticed! This is annoying lol. I hate leave people hanging and really hate to seem rude!

Well its months later and I'm still having the issues you all are talking about. Going into my inbox to see that there are messages showing read but I've never read them. Or that messages that I hadn't deleted are no longer there. I dont get it. :/

So, if anyone has sent me a message and I haven't replied... it's probably because I never got it. I'm sorry.

It's the weird way the messaging is constructed on this site. Very often you'll send someone an email or something & you want to go back & read what you sent them after the fact, right? Well, here on FS, if you do that, it marks your message as Read for the recipient. The same goes for deleting messages...if you delete any of your sent mail, it gets deleted from the recipient's inbox. So if your inbox gets emptier, it's because the senders have cleaned up their outboxes.

It's a ridiculous design but it is what it is...& it is free.
