Yes! Eat a damned yolk, people! lol Smile All the good stuff (vitamins and such) are in the yolks. All the reasons they used to tell you not to eat eggs have been dis-proven. So eat eggs if you like them. They are a great source of complete protein.

When I see people eating egg white anything I cringe. So gross to me! Yeah, you save a few calories, but you lose a lot of the benefit of eating eggs in the first place!

Everyone I've talked to, including medical professionals, has said there's nothing wrong w/ eating the whole egg. The yolks are really good for you & contain nutrients that the whites don't. The only time I've hear not to is if you have very high cholesterol, esp if you're taking meds. Other than that, eggs are great! Very Happy

I eat scrambled eggs (and other things that involve scrambling) whole, but hard boiled, I don't eat the yolk, but that's just 'cause I don't like it. Smile

There is definitely nothing wrong with yolks. However, egg whites are a great low calorie food and if you're trying to cut calories, omitting the yolk custs out 75% of the calories in an egg (56 cal in yolk vs 17 in whites).

I go with 6-7 egg whites in the morning and throw in a whole egg. For myself its a good source of low calorie healthy protein. I actually prefer the taste of an egg white to a yolk. Besides the fact that in 3 years we will be reading about how a mistake was made and egg yolks are bad for you lol.

Agree with KeithD - I do the mix of egg whites and egg. It's only bad if you eat them too often, for bodybuilders or if you are using eggs to take in protein, add the egg whites to the whole eggs on the menu for an added protein without the fat

For many years I cut eggs because the after taste grossed me out. I found out it was the yolks I didn't like, I NOW LOVE EGG WHITES! Love that they are low cal and have the protien I want too!

Real Food = Good
Chemicals/overly processed food-like substance = Not Good

If I eat eggs for breakfast, I usually have one whole and two whites scrambled, because I like the idea of a higher protein, lower calorie choice and omitting some yolks helps me with that. And I, like another poster, also don't like boiled yolks, so I only eat boiled whites. I do see the good in eating yolks though, so if you prefer them that way, enjoy!

eggs are absolutely great for you...for years it was thought that they were high in cholesterol. but in fact they are jam packed with the good kind and not the bad kind. In order to get the full impact of nutrients, both whites and yolks should be eaten.

I think for sure that the whites provide the lower calorie, almost 2/3 of the calories come from the yolk... BUT ITS SO GOOD. So i agree, if your cutting down or tyring to make good decisions, do 3 egg whites, and 1 egg yolk! it has helped me stay full A LOT longer and helped me lose A LOT of weight because its an ideal breakfast.... AS LONG AS its not cooked with butter, preferably hard boiled, and if not, then use a 0 calorie cooking spray!

Yes, it is ok, but you will have to sweeten it with a low cal sweetener. Don't expect it to be like pb because it isn't, but it will do in a pinch.Might be ok in a recipe, haven't tried it ...
