Does anyone have any experience with this diet? I was looking for a homemade body cleanse formula and came across this online.

I wouldn't recommend it - it's another starvation 'cleanse' diet that lasts ten days. You'll lose some weight, but the pounds will come back again (and possibly a few extra) once you're finished.

Maybe just eat fresh and whole foods - the body will appreciate that and then there's no need for 'cleansing'.

I did the lemonade diet aka the master cleanse diet about 2 months ago. It last 10 days and it really does clean out your system. I lost 10 lbs on the diet and an extra pound as I eased off of it. It's a very intense diet and requires you to be near a bathroom during the morning and sometimes at night because of the herb tea laxative and salt water flush. After I got off it, I began to eat solid foods about 4 days after and it wasn't the healthiest food so I gained back about 5 lbs. However, I never gained all the weight I lost. When I started it I was 173 and went down to 162 in 10 days. I then gained 5 lbs in about 2 weeks but lost it again and in total my weight fluctuated between 164-165 for a while. Even if you get on it make sure you listen to your body for any signals, I luckily had no complications. As long as you ease into it and ease out of it slowly you should be fine.

there was a great article about lemonade diets a few weeks ago posted in the forums. if you search "lemonade" in the box (top right hand side of this page) you will find it a few entries down.

looking at your history and goals, it looks like you are trying to maintain weight loss? you have gone up and down but keeping pretty steady around your goal, great job. keeping track of calories in and out on here and your phone app is a great way to do that. i dont think you need a crash diet.

good luck!

A quick fix won't help you permanently lose weight. You do more damage than good when you rob your body of the fuel it needs to function for an extended period of time.

Plus it is just nasty to drink saltwater until you s##t yourself silly. I think I'd rather be fat, personally.

But luckily, those aren't the only two answers! Through a moderate diet and exercise you can transform your body the way you want to. It won't happen overnight and it will take a lot of hard work. Anything worth having is worth working for, no? Your body is not a kitchen appliance and does not need to be "cleansed". It detoxifies itself. The human body is an amazing machine. But you wouldn't expect your car to run if you suddenly started filling it with lemon and pepper, would you? The same goes for your body.

Please rethink this silliness Smile

It sounds like a very low calorie ketogenic diet. This is good because being in ketosis will protect much of your muscle mass & the salt water & lemonade will protect your electrolyte balance. But unfortunately it's sorely lacking protein so even though you will be in ketosis you will still be losing muscle. I would recommend if you're going to do this diet to add 2 whey protein isolate drinks (or simply 200g / 7 oz of fat free tuna or very lean meat). You will still lose the weight but you will also protect your muscle mass more effectively. Also look into Protein Sparing Modified Fast. They will bring you the same results.

All the weight loss will be basically water and muscle mass. When you're done you will regain some of the weight and will be left with less muscle, which in turn lowers your metabolism. It is not a good strategy.

ebivr - soooo, should the tuna be added to the lemonade with the whey powder before placing in blender? Can I also add a can of white jelly fugus or some candied cherries?

Thanks all and nicyndi, I have reached my goal weight. I was thinking about adding the potion to my diet while eliminating diet soft drinks. You'd think that loosing the weight would be the hardest thing to accomplish, but for me it's kissing the sodas goodby.

Well... you could do that LOL! but I personally would just eat & drink them separate to the actual lemonade itself.

Not sure about that, would probably raise your carbs too high & kick you out of ketosis.

It really depends on why you're doing it. I've been doing the Master Cleanse for over 7 years, 4x a year, with no ill effects. Sometimes I lose weight, sometimes I don't, but I always *feel* better and have never had a problem losing muscle. Ask any Buddhist or Hindu about the benefits of fasting. It is *not* a diet. I can't stress that enough. A diet is a structure of eating/consuming. This is a fast.

Not just any fast either. It's called the *Master* Cleanse for a reason and it's not for everyone. It is best approached from a spiritual perspective. I did my first cleanse after being left at the altar. 7 days into it I hadn't lost any weight and wasn't showing the coated tongue or any of the other usual signs. The 8th day I had a huge 2 hour cry over the failing of my almost-marriage, tears I hadn't been able to get out. It was cathartic. I was finally able to let go. Fasting works for me.

The most important thing about fasts is to listen to your body. Nobody knows it as well as you do. If you're really wanting to *cleanse*, not lose weight, check into some of the Rainbow Light cleanses. They are herbal, don't require fasting, and can be found at Vitamin Shoppe. If you are wanting to fast, I would look into milder juice fasts to start. Most are only 48-72 hours and the body is still supported.

Always know your true intentions when working with your body. Ask if you're investing in yourself, your health and happiness, or trying to shed baggage that has manifested on the outside as a meat suit. A fast will *make* you answer that question.
And then the day came, when the risk to remain tight in a bud
was more painful than the risk it took to Blossom.

I totally agree with Ketomancer. I added it over the past month and no more problems. I dropped all the extra fiber, etc. Take one at noon and one with dinner.
