I started the HCG on april 24 and I have lost 15.5 lbs. Frankly, I was skeptical because I tried it a couple years ago and I did'nt follow the protocol. This time I have followed the protocol to a T and it is AMAZING! If anyone does this diet exactly as prescribed it can not fail. The first week is a little rough, but, this week there is no hunger and the motivating factor is the lb or more a day of fat loss. No matter what stick to the PROTOCOL. Nothing taste as good as thin feels! Kent

I will agree this diet is amazing, I did my first round in Feb and lost 25 pounds in 21 days. I've started back on my second round but am having motivation issues this time around. Which is odd because I know that if I follow the protocol I will drop 1 and half to 2 pounds a day.

These both feel so cut and paste they're almost like spam. My suspicions are increased by the fact that you both joined on the same day and only have one post each.

Thanks for pointing that out Igelkind. I read some stuff about the HCG diet and jumped at it without really doing any research. I haven't started yet but now that I've done some research I'm getting pretty suspicious and potential spam posts like the ones above are making it seem almost definite that it's a scam. To bad I already spent to money but as the saying goes, "A fool and his money will soon be parted." Sad

Well spotted. There have been issues on weight loss sites with "members" who are paid to advertise expensive (and in this case very dodgy!) diet products. See also post called "HCG makes me sad":

I'll throw my hat in the ring to say that when someone expects to lose 1.5 to 2 lbs PER DAY, it'll make my eyebrows arch. Dramatically.

Good catch Igelkind/mmadink/smartoak!

If You do the diet exactly right you will drop on average 1 pound per day. Believe it or not. You can not do this diet half way.

I do not get paid for this, nor do I sell any of these products. I did my own research and found no substantial issues with HCG. I am on this sight to support and motivate the community that is doing the HCG Protocol as I am. If your not doing the diet then focus on the diet that you are doing and post with your diet community. Life is to short.

Unfortunately, the way these forums are structured, even if you post "in a diet", everyone has to see your posts. As such, once a week, the rest of us are forced to see a post equivalent to "OH EM GEE I just discovered HCG and it's cool. I need to tell my BFF Jill. Tee-hee." Since none of these posts, like your own that started this thread, offer anything substantial in the way of content, I think you're going to find the rest of the community railing against them.

Have a problem? Post about that. Did your hair start falling out or your legs start cramping due to a lack of potassium? Post about that. Find an interesting piece of HCG related propoganda research you want to share? Post a little summary and a link.

But please tell ALL your HCG cow-orkers friends that we don't want any more "OMG HCG 4EVER" posts without content. We've had your ilk come here and spam us; it's left us suspicious.

Re - healsdata - "We've had your ilk come here and spam us; it's left us suspicious." It certainly has! It's made me more than suspicious, it's made me alarmed!

HCG may have been around for a while, but it's becoming the go-to diet for those who were swept up in the fraudulent diet called Kimkins. Please read up on it and learn the machinations of a dangerous, damaging, and life-threatening diet scam. If you Google 'Kimkins and HCG' you'll not only find more of the troubling data about HCG, but you'll find people who are thinking of trying both!

The similarities are troubling, and I feel that it's only a matter of time before an expose(s), a lawsuit(s), and numerous survivor stories begin to pop up.

I agree w healsdata. I could care less if people are losing weight by starving themselves! If you lost the weight by eating right (eating an appropriate amount of calories and foods in whatever proportions works for you) and exercising, then I am impressed and want to hear about how good you are doing. I can't be happy for someone who is starving and injecting hormones. Tired of seeing this crap.

Me too leahl! what kind of message is this sending people?? everyone wants a cure all, this for sure isn't it! I guess desperate naive people are willing to try anything...Lord knows in the past I have tried some crazy stuff.... people need to realize they need to get off their butts, have some will power and do some good old fashioned work to reset their metabolism. And that it doesn't happen overnight!! I am not a doctor or anything close, but I have aquired enough common sense through trial and error to know its crap....I feel bad for the impressionable young people that see these posts and think they need to try it Sad Oh, and by the way people, its not a diet, its a MONEY MAKING scam! (AS ARE MOST COMMERCIAL DIETS!)

I was about to agree with you, but I found something even better. It's called super-mega-gigantorHCG. It's the same plan, but instead of only eating 500 cals/day, I eat NEGATIVE 1500 calories a day. This speeds up the process so much. I lost 100 pounds yesterday alone! I finally have that frail, bald, malnourished look I've been striving for all my life. I'm so happy! Now I need to take a rest, typing all this has really taken it out of me.

Sheripickle, It's sending a horrible message, especially to young people. If I looked on this site as a 15 year old, I would have been like SCORE! I can lose a pound a day! There is definitely no quick fix, and I think we as a society need to stop being lazy and looking for a magic pill or concoction and do what you said, DO THE WORK.

The hcg diet is nothing more than a scam. I've looked up the prices online for the homeopathic hcg and injections just to see how much money these people are spending, and it is very pricey. No one in the media is talking about how great calorie counting is because it isn't putting money in people's pockets! You can lose weight for free! No chemicals, no starving!

kentbyou was nice enough to send me this sweet personal message.

By the way, Kent, when you go out of your way to call someone an idiot, it's a good idea to make sure you spell 'YOU'RE' correctly. Otherwise, you're going to end up looking like an idiot. Also, I'm AN idiot, not A idiot.

FatSecret should be careful not to let this site become an HCG site. I will bail as I'm sure others will as well.

I'm sure they have a plan to monetize FatSecret at some point, with success being measured by the number of active members.

I agree w rjenkins. I will leave if this hype about HCG continues. It's ridiculous.
