Let's face it WW is behind this change. Rather than supporting us, they found FS a threat. I was very upset at first but decided to put the blame on WW's where it belongs. I have a work around my points calculation. I edited my preferences in FS and made sure I included Calories, Fat, and fiber. Then I created an excel worksheet that contains the same headings as my food diary totals. I added a date column and my own calculation for WW points. Now I can copy my totals in FS and paste them into my spreadsheet to see my points for the day. It is an extra step but it works!

Here is the calculation for my points:
=ROUND(((G2/50)+(C2/12))-(E2/5),1) Where G2 is calories, C2 is fat grams, and E2 is fiber. I put the date in A2 and my calculation in H2. It works for me.

I agree the WW is likely behind this change. I used different program when I was using a Palm handheld device which the company also shut down!

I don't know where my calculations came from....I learned it years ago...but it always matched up with what fatsecret said.... I take the fat and multiply it by 4 and add that to the # of calories. then i take the fiber and multiply it by 10, and subtract that amount from the total I got previously. then I divide the whole amount by 50.

so something with 300 calories and 8 grams of fat, 4 grams of fiber

would be 8*4=32 32+300= 332 4*10=40 so my total would be 292, which I would round up to 300, for a points value of 6.

wow....this seems so much less confusing in my head!!!!! LOL

This seems like a system that's meant for non-working people. This site was quick and easy. If I know myself, I won't keep up the spread sheet idea.

This is a good starting point, but you really need an exercise plan to maximize the results. Even if it is just walking. Get moving!
