I have spent the last hour searching for something else. I like the SparkPeople site - it doesn't track WW points but I like the site and food plan recommendations. I think I will switch to that.

They don't track points anymore- they removed it. I definitely think they should give us the option to input the points ourselves. I know how to figure the points, but I want to be able to SEE it on the screen! Makes it so much easier!

That is crappy Sad I don't really follow WW anymore but I had them on my profile just to see points VS calories, I didn't even notice they were missing...

It's probably because WW wants to make money off their own site and they are tired of people using the plan for free. That's the problem with doing a commercial diet- they want you to buy stuff.

Honestly ladies, you can do the exact same thing with calorie counting right here, for free, and you never have to buy a damn thing!!!

Fatsecret is a Free site, but they have no control over what other weight loss plans want to do. I've often wondered how they can track WW points, since it is a paid diet that they want to make money off. Honestly, points just add another level of unnecessary complication, IMO.

I've spent the last few hours looking & can't find a thing!!! I like the option of being able to add a column ourself so we can track the WW pts ourselves. They wouldn't have to call it anything to do with WW.

Today I had to swap calories for POINTS. I calculated my total for the heck of it to see what my POINTS actually tallied up to eating around 1200 calories. Here's what I got:

According to the formula below, I had 21.845 POINTS today. The online calculator at tallied me at 25. I'm going with the WW formula. Here is the formula:

"The "secret" formula used to work out how many Weight Watchers points a meal contains is protected by a US patent. Although there are many variations of the formula, here's an example of one included in the patent information.

One point = (calories/50) + (fat grams/12) - (min{r, 4}/5)

The last part of the formula — min{r, 4} — is equal to the number of grams of dietary fiber or 4, whichever is the smaller number. The formula means that one point is equal to the number of calories in a food serving divided by 50. The value increases by about one point for every 12 grams of fat, and drops by about one point for every five grams of fiber.

In simple terms, total fat becomes a point penalizer, while fiber is a point enhancer. "

And here's the patent for WW, explaining how hey calculate points and why points are more effective than calorie counting.

For someone like me who should eat between 18 and 20 POINTS per day here is what I have come up with. What I've figured is that if you stay at around 1000 calories a day (20 POINTS). Eat no more than 25 grams of fat (ADD 2.08 POINTS FOR A SUBTOTAL OF 22.Cool Throw in 25 grams of fiber (SUBTRACT 4 FOR THE FIBER) = 18.8 POINTS (or let's just round it off to 19) is about right. So I'm going to try to stick to these parameters and see if that works for next Friday's weigh-in!!

I am really bummed about this. This was working for me and the thought of another monthly bill is depressing. My plan is to rename all the foods I usually eat with the amount of points per serving in the TITLE.

I miss the point calculation, also!! That was always the first thing I looked at when choosing recipes. I wonder if the actual WW site was causing trouble with this site for doing that!!

I actually wondered how long FatSecret could track WW points before WW made them stop. I assume that's what's going on here. I'm not shocked or surprised at all. WW has a great product and I think they have the right to make others stop using their system for free. That's not to say I'm not bummed that I can't track points here anymore!

I think it stinks that something that was working for a lot of us has been taken away. Most of us are on a very tight income and cannot afford that extra 17.99 a month for ww. I will not endorse them at all. Good luck everyone and keep up the good work. We can all do it without them'

I just logged on and like many of you discovered that we're no longer able to track WW points. How absolutely frustrating and sad. I am unable to pay $18/month so I guess I will have to figure something else out. Unfortunately without the WW tracking this site won't be of use to me. Best of luck to all of you!

Hi Everyone…
I have just joined this site and find it a tremendous help. I must agree with those who find it disappointing that the WW points are no longer presented. I am doing the ‘round-a-bout’ WW plan, since I too, am finding myself in a financial bind after having lost my job of 33 years, and cannot afford the weekly fees. (No matter how small they may be.) So, I rely on the internet and all the support that I can find for free. Thanks to everyone for their help. One of my personal favorite sites is I love her story and a friend of mine gave me Kim’s book, Finally Thin as a gift. Under her recipe section, I’ve noticed Kim denotes squares in her recipes Nutrition Facts. I’ve come to realize that this is how Kim provides her version of the calculation of the WW formula, without saying their patented word. Ya just gotta love Kim for all her help. When the time comes where I might be able to join a helpful weight control site, Kim’s is one that I will be happy to invest in. My enormous gratitude to FatSecret, KimBensen and DWLZ for all their free information available to us financially struggling dieters. You are all a blessing… and so very much appreciated. Currently I am stuck at a plateau. I also had my worst falling off (Mother’s Day weekend) since I started last July (2009) and I just cannot seem to regain a grip. I guess I need to quit punishing myself for my binge, forgive myself and just get back to it. It’s funny… I give this advice to my friends, but I don’t follow it very well. But… I WILL SUCCEED. I have another 40 lbs to go, and things have definitely slowed considerably since I started. Well, it’s nice to have joined this awesome site, and good luck to all of us in the sisterhood of struggling dieters. Ooops. No offence to any males reading this. We’re all in this together to support one another. Male and female alike. Thanks everyone for letting me ramble.
