But how can we know if it's good? Mine always turns out to be between 60 and 75% when i record my intake in my diet calendar. And how can we improve it?

Shoushy, you need to eat more calories. I aim for 85-100% of my RDI every day. Your body is going to start hanging onto any calories you are giving it.

So wait, I thought RDI was to maintain your weight and you need to eat less to lose? Are you saying I should eat 2300 cal/day (my RDI) in order to lose 1lb/week?

RDI is a tool. If your RDI is to lose weight, it is just a goal to meet each day and can be adjusted. I started off with an RDI of 1300 and that works if I am doing 10,000 steps a day. I have to eat less if I want to lose and don't exercise.

@Fatcity66. The APP shows you how much you are eating and how much you are burning. You should aim at eating less than your RDI if you want to lose weight. Less food + more exercise = weight loss. Conversely if you eat more than you burn then you will gain weight. If you are eating as much as you are burning then you will maintain weight. When your body doesnt have calories to burn it starts to burn your pre-existing fat for energy. I am shooting for 80% of my RDI of 2700 (2,160) and trying to burn 2600 calories a day. That should burn off some of my excess fat before my wedding Very Happy
