I'm just wondering if anyone else on here is doing Insanity? I'm just finishing up the program, and loving it so far. I definitely should've posted this when I started, but better late than never, right?

I just finished Chalean Extreme- loved it but am looking to take it up a notch. My husband is thinking about P90X but I'm thinking Insanity. Looks intense!

I've done P90X several times and it is Da Bomb! I've in the Navy as well and it really helps to get ready for the fitness testing we have to do twice a year. I don't necessarily do the complete program religiously, like I skip the yoga, and I use 8 minute abs everyday instead of doing Ab Ripper. You'll see results by the time you hit Phase II.

My gang is looking at starting Insanity in the next couple of weeks. I know a Marine who has done both and says for weight loss and general cardio, Insanity is the way to go. But he prefers P90X for overall body condition and strength.

Insanity is a great change of pace from P90X, I have a friend in the army who is doing it now and we're going to be starting P90X at the same time in May. Insanity is intense, but in a good way, if you need/want to challenge yourself I would definitely recommend it. I completed the program so if anyone has any questions let me know!

I'm in phaseII of p90x and love it so far. I'm not really losing weight on the scale which is disappointing but I am feeling and looking so much stronger. My husband just started p90x Plus and says it is totally tough but he's loving it too. I think Insanity will have to be our next purchase!

You are doing extreme cardio and unless you wear a heart monitor or something of that nature, you will not have an exact calorie count...however, I would probably list it as running fast or bicycling fast since your heart rate will be really high doing each of those activities. On a side note, to redlizard 4, my husband and I have done both P90x & Insanity. P90x is weight lifting and getting into shape that way...going from one exercise to another; whereas Insanity is an intense cardio workout that builds muscle by using your own body weight. Both my husband and I enjoyed the intensity of Insanity. You will truly be dripping sweat if you give it your all. We still revisit the P90x DVDs once in awhile, especially for abs.

My husband and I are currently working out to the insanity videos, I love the intensity of the work out and it feels good to know that I'm really getting a work out in. I'm following the program somewhat but I only care that I'm working out. I also have had a hard time tracking the calorie burn for this workout, I use the running fast and heavy calisthenics for the push ups portion of the work out. To jlscalese, yeah your neighbors probably wouldn't like that very much. LOL

Im on day 5 week 1 of p90x. I can't wait to finish because I really really wanna do insanity! To track the calorie burn, I wear a heart rate monitor that shows how many calories I burn. When i log it, I choose other and it lets you type in the exercise and the number of calories. You can get a heart rate monitor starting at around 30$

I've finished P90X and use it to maintain my wonderful new muscle definition. I added Insanity because cardio is my weakness and alternate between them both. Because of all the jumping/pounding in Insanity, I can't maintain that program on a regular basis, so I made up my own by using Insanity drills between sets on P90X. It's madness, but I love it. My body can't do this every day, so I alternate days.

Question to the group: What is the best heart rate monitor you've found that doesn't cost $60 and up? I need something that you can use without coming to a complete stop actually use it! So frustrating to get your heart rate up there and then not see what it is messing with a unit that needs lots of attention to work. Thanks folks!! I appreciate the input.

I know I always used to feel bad when I lived on the 2nd floor, so glad I moved w.out anyone below me,lol. unfortunately, i don't have any tips on a HRM, i've always contemplated buying one, but afer the bodybugg i had to hold off on other electronics/gadgets. klbar you can get it through the website, or via a beachbody coach (www.teambeachbody.com/fitisthenewblk)

Is anyone doing the addt'l videos? I've only done the upper body thus far and its killer. I could only make it through 1/2 of the max sports circuit and haven't even attempted the Insane Abs, but I may have to add that back into my rotation soon.

I am doing Insanity and just started month 2. Today will be my 3rd day in and I love it. As for HRMs, I use a Polar F6 monitor and I love it. Never workout without it!

Month two is a beast, I think the recovery week was pretty challenging too though. I love love love the results you get though from all those pushups. I would definitely suggest getting the deluxe videos too, the upper body training workout had my arms burnt for like 3 days.

I have also done P90X and love it. I really enjoy the intensity. I have noticed that they advertise their protein bars, shakes and recovery drinks. Is it really necessary to buy and consume those? Has anyone tried them?
