Hiya,
I'm struggling to stay motivated. Am new to this and am trying atkins as it's worked for me in the past (well, a variation of it anyway). Looking for a female diet buddy of about the same stats 30-40, 40lb to lose. Can remain anonymous and doesn't matter where you are based. Thought perhaps we could keep each other inspired.

Welcome to your journey - May it be prosperous.

Great! How's everyone doing? Losing steadily? Staying motivated? Any tips? I think I'm allergic to exercise (ha ha). I'm a mum with 2 jobs so it's nigh on impossible to find the time. I've started working to work or out at lunch time which just about makes 30 minutes. Other than that, i'm struggling with a 6 can a day diet coke habit. Water is just so plain. Any advice?

I will be your buddy
I also have roughly 35 lbs. to lose....we'll see when I get there. I started Atkins 4 days ago. I also LOVE diet coke. I switched to diet coke with splenda...counting one can as one carb. It tastes a little different. One thing that helped me was drinking a bottle of water in between a can of diet. I found I started to drink less and enjoyed the water more. Now I drink 4-5 liters of water a day and 2 cans of diet coke. Hope that helps!

Lemons. They are wonderful in water, especially if you put them in a water jug. The longer they are in there - the more flavorful.
As for me - I have lost 11 lbs since the 11th of January. I tend to not remain motivated as I am typically the only one around that is dieting (hubby is 6-5 and weighs 175-180). This time I have joined fatsecret, fitday, and atkins. It helps to hear other stories and concerns, which helps keep up the motivation.
Welcome to your journey - May it be prosperous.

I usually will have one or two bottles with crytal light in them, they are really tasty. You may want to try that instead of all the pop. I try not to have more than one a day, i guess it has something in it, that isn't great for you. However, if you were cutting the pop and doing the crystal lights instead, i can't imagine it would be any worse. I still drink the 6 additional glasses of water everyday when I can.

Hi! I'm not sure if you ever heard of save a lot stores. They have this pop called Diet Bubba cola that is aspertame, and caffine free. There are also a couple other flavors like Diet Root Beer, and Dr Pop. Lol! I know it sounds funny but they are really good! I also like crystal light peach tea.

Hey there folks. I am new here and just looking around to see whats what. You made me laugh out loud when you said you that you think you are allergic to exercise. That is too funny and I think most of us here can relate to that one.
I agree with jamalyn, Crystal light in your water can help with the feeling that water is so boring.

@ Jesskripp if your a big diet soda drinking try diet right I love it. Reminds me of regular soda the most...it's sweetened with splenda....
As far as water be careful with the crytal lights the powder form does have aspartame in it but the pre mixed has splenda. There are some people who will have craving triggers due to the artificial sweetners and you need to count them to have at least 1 carb to be on the safe side.
I take 4 -16.9oz bottles of water out in the AM and put a lemon slice in. Drink one straight down in the morning before I have anything else. Then I have half a bottle with all my meals. Carrying bottles around with me helps me to sip on a constant instead of wanting to munch.
As far as working out goes. Doing a little here and there is effective just like working out for 30 minutes to an hour at a time. If all you can pencil in is 10 minute intervals then so be it. Just do it through out the day. I know my schedule is crazy so sometimes I only get it in spurts through the day. I also will park further away at stores, utilize the stairs before the elevator, and if I have time walk the 2 mile round trip to get my cup of coffee from Dunkin Donuts.

Soda is a big down fall for me too, but I have noticed I don't crave it as much if I have some carbonated, flavored water around. You can't find it any where and it's a great replacement for that soda. My favorite is the Black Cherry flavor from Wal-Mart.

I would be interested in joining your thread. Of course I bet I have you all beat. To get to my ideal recommended weight, I have 88 lbs or so to go. For now, I shall stick to my goal of just getting under the 200 mark.

Even though fat doesn't count in Atkins, it can cause you to gain or not lose weight if you consume too much. Be careful of over eating this nutrient. ie: cream, cream cheese.
