Sure, I'm over 50 & need to lose about 70 lbs. I'm new on this site; just kind of checking things out.

Live near Washington DC, but I've lived in many parts of the country, including Buffalo, NY.

I'm 55, would really like to lose from 40-60 lbs, live clear across the country in Seattle, WA, and would enjoy supporting each other in this challenge!

Count me in...I seem to "fit" the profile. lol Wouldn't it be great to support one another in achieving a NEW profile? I am 57 and need to lose 70 pounds...a new high for me and one I never dreamed I'd see. No excuses here but it seems that stopping smoking, getting a sedentary job, and thyroid failure have been the perfect scenario for this weight gain. I WILL conquer this last issue and will enjoy the rest of my life participating in it rather than just watching it. "Try" is not in my vocabulary as I was told trying is looking good while failing. No trying here...just DOING.
How shall we be motivators for one another? Would texting be helpful?

I'm 53 and I need to shed 50 pounds. I have a large belly that has to go. I got addicted to cigars in 1997 and had had a tough time quitting until I had a heart attack in 2004. That did the trick. So my plan is watch what I eat and exercise at least 5 days a week. My bad habit is drinking red wine in the evening. I checked out Jorge Cruise's Belly Fat Cure and I'm encouraged. I live in South Carolina.

I'd be eager to be a buddy too! I just found this site this morning. I will turn 52 on Thursday and I need to lose at least 40 pounds. I lost a big chunk of weight in my early 30's, but now I am back to square one. I live in Louisville, KY. I also am unsure how everything on here works for now, but will be exploring. How do we actually be buddies for one another? Just talking right here????

I'm up for joining a group. This is my first venture at social networking. I'm 51. I have 70 lbs to lose. I'm a bit nervous that I'll spend too much time here, but look forward to the support. I work at home. A lot of time at the computer. I look forward to this new venture in the new year.

I turn 50 this year. Have 30 pounds to lose. I am not quite a match... but this Post has received so many hits, from so many fun people, that is seems like the place to be. I'm from the midwest, but I travel all across the East, and Southeast... including DC, the Carolinas, Louisville. If you'd like another buddy, one only just starting the 50s club, please include me!

This is a good starting point, but you really need an exercise plan to maximize the results. Even if it is just walking. Get moving!
