I'm on Glycemic Impact Diet. 40% of my calorie intake comes from complex, unrefined carbohydrates such as whole grains (bread and cereal) and fruits instead of juice. The next 30% comes from lean protein such as chicken, and fish. Beef and pork meat are not prohibited, but are included in the diet occasionally. I have read on Project Weight Loss
that The last 30% of the daily calorie intake should come from healthy fats, such as avocado, olive oil or nuts. To make it even clearer, here is an example of a meal plan. For breakfast, you can either have a vegetable omlet with wheat bread and strawberries or, if you are a cereal type of person, oat bran cereal with blackberries and milk. For lunch, you can choose between a sandwich with grilled cheese and tomato along with a salad and some milk, and a more traditional lunch, spicy chicken strips with fresh salad and yogurt.
