P90X is what I've been doing for the last 2 weeks and I'm really loving it. It's very intense, it keeps you moving and the results I've seen already keep me wanting to continue on the regime. The extreme difference in this workout is that it breaks up the monotony with going to the gym. It does require someone 100% devoted to it and although it take a little more time out of your day, it's been worth all the extra "hassle." I don't see it as an inconvenience anymore, I see it as part of my everyday routine. Us girls wouldn't cancel a hair or nail appointment, so why skip over your everyday workout?! Finding a routine you enjoy will keep you heading in the right direction. With the nice weather lately, hiking is another great way to get some exercise and be outdoors enjoying the scenery. Good Luck!

I too have been a huge fan of P90X. I have the program for a year now and each time I start a new round it energizes me. Hope you can stick with it, the results are so worth it. I lost over 20 lbs the first round and have been able to maintain my weight with subsequent rounds. Have fun!!

I love P90X also, it has only been 1.5 weeks but has made me feel great and I actually want to get up and do the DVD for the day. I put the setting on silence and cues and play my ipod ion the back. Working great for me, my music I love gets me more motivated.

We have the DVDs but haven't used them. Isn't this something you have to do every day?

Yes it is a 6 day a week program and it does come with a nutrition guide to follow as well (although I'm not currently doing that)

If you haven't tried already SI6 is a great program as well!

My dad did this and he got me the DVDs as well. He told me it's an awesome workout, but I haven't tried it yet. I live in an apartment with not a lot of room. Do I need any crazy special equipment if I do start this up in the coming months?

Yes. Would someone breakdown some of the requirements(equipment, room, gym, etc?) and some examples from the workouts so we can get a better idea of what's involved?

We did one round of P90X this time last year. You can use bands or dubmbbells for all weight resistance exercises and will need a pullup bar. My wife and I's preference was the dumbbells over the bands because they weigh the same all the time. The bands change resistance over a distance travelled so it is very hard to keep track and log progression. We both did the exercises in our bedroom in about a 12x7 foot space at the same time. Plyometrics, Kenpo and Core Synergist are the ones that require a bunch of room.

I am on day number 8 of P90X. It DOES work. But, you really need dedication to keep doing it day in and day out. If your not used to working out this may not be the choice for you. The very first day will leave you feeling sore for a while...Other than that this is the best hands down!

Do warm-ups and cool-downs count?
Honestly, I think it depends on what workout you're going with. I do cardio from a dvd with Denise Austin, and yes, I count the warm up and cool down... just because they feel like (together) they ...

Legs and Thighs
Have you found the exercise Brazil butt lift? I would like to gain tone but not build heavy, thick looking legs. Is this possible? Also need suggestions for upper body with the same philosophy.
