I going to try the South Beach Diet--I could use any advise.

I just started on the South Beach Diet about a week ago. I've lost a solid 9 pounds in about 10 days. At first I figured it was water, but it's been consistant. I plan to stay on phase one for at least another two or three weeks.

I would love some Phase 1 tips too! I'm really missing my bran cereal and blueberries for breakfast Sad

My husband & I started the SB diet in 2004 and followed it faithfully for almost 2 years. We lost weight, felt great and ate healthy and delicious. Life got in the way and we slipped off and weight slipped on! I am going to start again and stick with it. It's a great way to eat. Even though we fell off the diet a majority of the food we buy fits the guidelines. We have to eliminate the other crap!

I am now on day 2 of phase 1 so any tips would be greatly appreciated too! So far we're eating lots of eggs, boiled eggs and omlette. I'm struggling most of all with not being able to eat fruit but enjoying being able to eat low fat dairy [which my previous eating plan didn't allow]

My plan is to grin and bear it for 2 weeks until I can have my fruit back again!

Red yeast rice worked for me. I now take it only intermittently, and my cholesterol is stable around 5.8. Good luck!

Chart for daily water intake
I think it's weight related - not a standard of so many glasses. Plus some people then add in activity level and environment variables. There's tons of calculators online.
