Hi! I am a 31 year old single mother of a 3 year old precious adorable daughter. I had an eating disorder in my teens and early twenties. I never weighed over 130 until my 4th month of pregnancy. I eventually wound up at 192 lbs the day I gave birth. I was often below 100 lbs until I turned 25 which I know was unhealthy. After my pregnancy I lost a lot of the weight. I had some medical complications and surgery a little while after the pregnancy and gained all my weight back. This is the first time I have gotten serious about losing weight since then. I want to have energy and be able to play outside for hours with my daughter and take her to the park and just be a good role model. I also want to be healthy about my weight loss and not slip back into bingeing and purging. Basically I stay at home a lot because I am embarrassed about how I look. I don't have a support system here because I - it's a long story but the online community is the only support I have right now. If anyone needs a buddy to help stay motivated let me know! Good luck to everyone.

Everyone has their own story, but this is a great community for support. But even before the support comes into play you have got to have motiviation (your daughter) and the will to have a plan and stick to it. Before you know it, it will be second nature.

I didnt get heavy until I was a senior and highschool I blame it on the pot that I smoked in my younger days but I know it is because I quit playing sports and just didnt care. Well after highschool I had my first bout with an eating disorder I lost 50lbs in under 3 months. Well I joined the army and was made aware of my eating disorder. I did a short stint in the service before my returning home to attend college well all the weight I had lost and then about a hundred more went back on. I got up to 320lbs then stopped eating... dropped down to 215 then started eating again. I did this over and over again until just this year. I decided that I needed to lose the weight and do it the right way. I eat five times a day but I never eat more than a serving size of anything.
so far I have lost 27lbs it has taken longer than it did before but that is what happens when you take it seriously. I have never felt better in my life and this site is a very important key to my success thus far.
Thank you everyone.
Blessed Be
Mark

Thanks to all for the support! Congrats Mark - that's a huge loss in a pretty short time. I had never heard of the diet you're on. I feel pretty good today. Have to get exercising though! I have been lazy today. HOw often do you all weigh? I weighed twice yesterday and it made me sad.

I only weigh in once a week. Constantly watching the scale (in my opinion) isn't good. Your bbody is going to fluctuate all day because you are eating food and drinking liquids. If anything, only weight once a day. Morning is usually the best time right after you use the restroom.

Omigosh, you sound so much like me! I've had e.d.'s since I was 10 years old. It always comes and goes... but now that I have my daughter I want to be healthy. BUT, of course I still want to be skinny... I just want to do it the "right" way. Good luck with everything, I think this site is great for people like us.. it's pretty positive
