SBD phase 2 guidelines?

Hi! I'm about to go into phase 2 of SBD on Monday (YAY!) and I'm looking for a little guidance into how to introduce the carbs. A couple of other buddies on here told me to listen to my body and kind of learn which carbs work for me and don't.

But I need to know if there's any limits I guess? Like how many carbs you can have in a day. (Don't worry I don't want to go overboard on purpose, but I don't want to screw myself if say, I eat a cereal that has too MANY grams of carbs and not know it!) I was reading a website that said to have one carb and one fruit daily and gradually increase to three. Does this sound right? For example if on day one of Phase 2 I add an apple for breakfast and then maybe some brown rice at dinner? What is the total limit of carbs that should be in my rice, cereal, etc. and what should the fiber minimum be? Does one piece of bread or 2 count as the "daily" intake of carbs? (I like the Nature's Own Double Fiber bread, it has 50 calories, 13g of carbs, and 5g of fiber in each slice).

Sorry for all the questions...I just want to make sure I continue with the success I've had so far on this diet! Smile

the best and most successful way that i have found is to add 1 item per day per week...it is a little slower than the new book - but it allows you the flexabilty to see if you can eat "xyz" at breakfast, lunch or a snack or dinner...for example - if i eat fruit in the am basically before 3ish in the afternoon i have cravings all day long and i am constantly hungry...it took me 4 days of having an apple on monday with my breakfast, tuesday as a snack, wednesday as lunch adn then on thursday when i had it at mid afternoon snack i was not hungry nor did it trigger any cravings...

then the next week we added ww pasta (heartland) is 100% ww no other ingrediants...that is also an after lunch item for me...

than the 3rd week i tried cereal in the am...depending on the cereal i can eat it...

yes...exactly - it is harder to track which one is upseting the system if you do two at a time...now if you have one item when you want it and it does not effect you...move on earlier to the next item...just make sure you know how each item meshes with your system

Fruits have lots of sugar in them. Sugars are carbs. Therefore, fruit = carbs

for sb purposes adding a fruit in for phase 2 is totally acceptable...i do recomend starting with a lower gi fruit...however it is very doable

Is the calorie counter right?
Not too far out for me, although I had to put that I was sedentary to get it right. It came out at 1400, and I would lose weight very slowly at that, but am mostly trying to do about 90% of RDI to lose ...

Yes Steel cut oats. They take longer to cook but are so worth it! Add a tablespoon of peanut butter and some berries for a protein boost and great flavour. You can also add a table spoon of maple syrup ...
