Hi everyone, again
Ok, so I am returning back to Fat Smash because it forces you to eat healthy. I felt so much better when following this diet. I am not weighing myself because I did South Beach, then Weight Watchers and although South Beach worked for a week, long term, I cannot stick to it, like most diets. I don't even care what I weight right now (I still fit into all my clothes) until the 10 days are up and then I'll weigh myself and hopefully be pleasantly surprised. That's my MAIN goal is to NOT step on the scale. I'm taking a big deep breath and just moving on. Trying to stay positive, I can do this, might take me a few times, but I will get it done!

You can do this! I am on day 8. It was not nearly as difficult as I thought it would be. I can't wait to get on the scale tomorrow! I can tell something good has happened - I feel more slender. And make sure you check out the recipes in the "Kitchen" - there are a bunch of super delicious one's perfect for Phase 1.

I'm starting day 1 of FS today also. I'm also tracking points on weight watchers online...I've already paid for it I might as well use it! I'm not going to wait to weigh because I track my weight on fridays with WW and I'm really hoping to be able record at least a small loss from last Friday. You mention you are doing fat smash "again". When did you previously try it and what were your results?
Oh, btw, I've already cheated a little. Yup. Day 1 and I've already cheated. I've had some low fat cheddar cheese with breakfast and lunch, just an ounce each. And I'm not even going to try to go without coffee. =) So, its not a big cheat by any means. just thought I should come clean. =)

Thank you everyone for your encouragement. The support with Fat Smash members is unbelievable. Fat Secret is great, but Fat Smashers are definitely more supportive. Kat11, you can click on my history to see all the back & forth I've been doing. I would have stuck with Fat Smash but I have a cruise in 6 weeks and I guess I thought South Beach would get me there quicker but I just cannot do that diet...period. I tried over & over again, plus, I don't like not being able to have rice, fruit, oatmeal...etc. My success was great with Fat Smash when I followed it, but then I would cheat, get discouraged by the scale and then completely fall off the wagon. So it's really important for me to not see what the scale says. I will step on in 10 days but then will back off again maybe right before my cruise. I'm giving both of my scales to my cousin so I don't get on, that's pathetic isn't it. HAHA I'm happy to hear that you are doing well and excited about this diet. I think this time around, I'm keeping things very basic. I tend to think, hmmm what can I make with this and that and it's just easier to just eat the food and not think too much about it. Like with beans, today for the 1st time ever I just ate kidney beans with 1 tsp olive oil and seasonings and I loved it. Didn't think I would like them w/out tomato paste, chicken broth etc... (in a chili). Good luck everyone, I'll be checking everyone's progress...I'm sure you all did great!

Your yo-yo'ing sounds very familiar! I first tried fat smash a year and a half ago and I did really well for the first five days, then my friend had her bachelorette party and I splurged and never got back on track. I've since tried off and on doing fat smash, but never really committed to it. Whenever I'm attempting to eat healthy, whether following FS or not, I always incorporate the clean eating from fat smash into my diet because it is such a healthy way to eat. Your attempt to lose weight before a vacation is also very familiar! We are going to Kuaia in a little over 6 weeks! Where is your cruise? For me, being prepared with yummy meals really helps me stay on track. Last night I made a batch of slow cooker red beans and barley as well as some brown rice, then this morning I made a batch of sweet potato veggie chili, so I'm am stocked up on FS foods and shouldn't have any excuse!

Sweet potato veggie chili sounds so good, yum! Can you send me the recipe. Tomorrow I was going to make some soup or something so that lunches & dinners are easy. Boxed veggies are going to get old. And, you hit it, yo-yo dieting is my thing. It is however, how I got to this point. After my 2nd child, I was about 180 and got down to the 130's and 140's and have been there now for almost 2 years. I'm ready to get closer to the low 120's. I'll even take 125. My cruise is with my b/f with a band that we loved when we were younger, New Kids on the Block. No husbands or kids. We are very excited and since we both have never done anything like this for ourselves, we are pumped up and we get to finally meet our favorite band! Is Kuaia in Hawaii? Have a great time, never been there but my MIL & FIL go there all the time. They say it's beautiful. Wind surfing (something like that) is a big thing there and looks fun!

We plan on doing some scuba diving while there (yes, its in Hawaii). Squeezing this body in a wet suit is not sounding like much fun...it wasn't fun when I was skinny! How old are your kids? I have a 2 year old and have yet to lose the weight I gained with her. I set my goal for 152 in here, but that is a short term goal. Ultimately I would love to get to my prepregnancy weight or 133, but 125 would be even better. Where is the cruise going to take you? That sounds like so much fun, just a girls trip! Here's the recipe for the chili...it is so yummy!
Sweet Potato and Veggie Chili
Ingredients (use vegan versions):
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 small to medium red onion, chopped
1 teaspoon chili powder
1 1/2 cup vegetable broth
1 10 oz. sweet potato, peeled and cut into 3/4" cubes
1 14 1/2 oz. can stewed tomatoes with juice, break up tomatoes in a bowl with your
fingers
1 15 oz. can pinto beans, drained and rinsed
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 medium zucchini, diced
2 tablespoons chopped parsley or cilantro
salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
This is a very simple and hearty chili. The sweet potato adds a nice sweetness in contrast to the smoky and spicy flavors. You may add more cayenne pepper for a little extra heat!
Heat olive oil in heavy medium sauce-pan over medium-high heat. Add red onion and sauté until golden brown, about 5 minutes. Add the chili powder and stir for about a minute. Add 1 cup of the veggie broth and potato. Cover pan and reduce heat to medium and simmer until potato is almost tender, about 10 minutes.
Add stewed tomatoes with their juices and pinto beans along with the garlic and spices. Add zucchini and the rest of veggie broth (1/2 cup). Season to taste with salt and pepper.
Simmer uncovered until chili thickens and potato is very tender, about 10 minutes. Mix in parsley or cilantro at the end.
Serves: 4 servings
Preparation time: 25 minutes

Thanks for the recipe. I think I may make it today. It's a little cold today so a soup sounds perfect! Our cruise is to the Bahamas and we plan on drinking and eating so I'm sure that my weigh in when I return won't be pretty but this diet is great for getting you back to where you want and need to be. Scuba will be so much fun in Hawaii. I have never done it, fear of sharks I guess. My husband's aunt & her husband scuba all over and have pictures of them swimming with hundreds of sharks, yikes! I would pee my pants, I think. We need to hang in there, we'll get to our goals. Short mini goals are important. It stayed focused after both of my kids and always got back down to my pre-pregnancy weight which was usually between 140-150 but for me that's not my ideal weight. I am somewhat happy where I am but would like to finally get to my goal which is 120. Last year I got to 125 and I felt great! This website is so supportive and if we motivate each other, we'll get there
Did you weigh in today? How did you make out.

Hi new here. Starting today with a precleanse day yesterday. April is my healthy month dedicated to making better choices. I located the Fat Smash diet on line and it made sense to me so I am taking it on.
This site looks very interesting.

Yea, I'm not really down with diving with sharks...I, too, would pee my pants...er, wet suit! Everywhere we have gone we go with a diving company and they pretty much know where the sharks are and stay away from those areas, so fortunately I haven't encountered one. I'm afraid if I ever do that will be the end of my diving days! I dunno, maybe it wouldn't be so bad, but I would rather not find out! =) Your cruise sounds really fantastic! I'm sure my vacation will include plenty of eating and drinking!
Nice to meet you, peaceblond, I look forward to hearing more about your healthy journey!

All right: Official Fat Smash end of Phase 1 weigh in: 7 lbs lost! I am thrilled with that result! Only 25 more to go to reach my first goal... By may 15th. Totally a reasonable accomplishment! (Yea, Me!)

I am new to this site and in day 3 Phase I. I did have to tweak a few things but I have been true to 98% of the diet. I feel much "cleaner". I need to loose 40lbs by October and I have set small goals to reach that goal. I hope to see results but I am realstic in my expections. I want healthy and life long weight loss.
Good luck ALL!!!

Drink lots of water. If you can, try drinking the Benefiber packets in your bottled water. It keeps you feeling full which helps during the detox phase and it helps with bloat, belly fat, and energy.
