Hey Cid:
I don't get very many responses but I do respond to others. Keep up the good work and don't feel lonely. I am always on here.

I am very new here, but I joined not to get responses but to just start a journal that I could be proud of for myself. It's tough recording down what you eat all the time but providing some antedotes myself.

Then when people ask, "How did you lose the weight?", you will have all these jackpot entries of memorial gold waiting here. So try not to be too down, albeit it's easier said than done ^_^

It's all about finding the reason you want to lose weight! that's what stops you reaching for the candy or what ever!
just think of why you want to lose weight. it can be positive or negative! mine is a mix of both [i want to be able to wear a bikini when i go away next year and I had a awful moment at xmas when I realised I had nothing that would fit but tracksuit bottoms!] Just got to find your reason and hold on to it!!

I love to chat. I want to say that i have been battling 60 lbs for 4 years. I lost weight about 11 years ago and kept it off for 7 years. then I moved to NC and gained 60 lbs. I hate the way I look. I really want my old self back. I get lonely too because I isolate myself from the world that I want to be apart of because of my weight. I use to be social and fun but now I am unsocialable and boring. I hide myself from my life. I want to be me again. I am really trying. I will do this this time I just know it. I will talk to you whenever. Great making new friends.

Wow, just scanning through the posts I see that 3 people have lost 20 lbs and one person has lost 41 pounds. Congratulations to everyone, our hard work is paying off! Whether you have lost 1 pound or 40 pounds, each pound lost is an achievement worth celebrating (so long as it's not a food reward). Very Happy

Don't worry Cidko, as new members entering into an established community it sometimes can be difficult to get responses to things you might have said.

Just know that you are a member of a community and whilst we don't spam people people will be here for you when you need it.

I am open to Buddying for you or anyone else if you feel that might be beneficial for you. I have no one at the moment myself! Wink

This is the main reason I spend so much more time on Sparkpeople. The community here just isn't that active. Or maybe it's just hard for people to find where the action is? I don't know but it is annoying that with so many people on here so few post in the forums regularly.

You know what I don't get? People that I am sending a private message to and don't hear anything back. I check my in-box because I feel like, if I send them a private message, I'd get a private message back. Nothing. Next day, nothing. I like private messages because that way I'm not scouring the entire site looking for replies to my comments. For anyone out there interested in talking to me, you just might want to try sending me a private message!

It's difficult to keep up because the site is so big. i wish I got notifications, like on facebook, when some1 responds on a thread I post to. Also i think some ppl on the site are not as computer literate as others and they don't notice things like the inbox notification and friend requests....

I feel the same. I don't mind if I am just putting things down but when I have a question and put it out there it is b/c I really would like some advice and it does not seem that people really care. I do have a few friends that reply. I will send a buddy request. I like to reply as much as I can so others don't feel the same about me.

well I am loving FS. I love to read what others have posted and how others have responded. Occasionally I think I have something to add.....not that often. I love it when I get a response, but still learn an incredible amount if I am not responded to personally. I always get a private response from my buddy. I ma just getting used to the site, but I am really loving it. It helps to know how others are doing, where they slip up, progress and testimonies of struggle. Good luck...hope you get used to how this site works. Feel free to contact me.....I will respond.

It's really difficult to keep up with everyone's journal entries...there are soooo many people wanting to be heard & much fewer who want to listen & encourage people! Maybe we should all just write our journals for ourselves & if we actually want to have a discussion post or PM!!
