normal to feel weak?

I'm on day 5 of phase 1. I haven't really been eating the 4-5 meals a day because it turned to be impractical for me. In the past few days, I felt fine and would eat when I got hungry but today (day 5) I'm feeling weak and not up for exercise. Is this normal? I could also use a little push to keep going! >_<

Hey tofuturkey!! Im not a doctor, but I think it may be the fact that your NOT eating the 4-5 meals a day. Your supposed to eat every 3 to 4 hrs (or 2 to 3 I forgot which one) even if your not hungry. The reason for this is so that your metabolism doesnt drop too low, and your body wont go into starvation mode. You may not be giving your body enough energy to run and stay up. Eat a few more calories, and a little more often and you should feel fine. Those 9 days are very difficult, and you have to make sure youre eating enough calories ESPECIALLY if your exercising. Calories in, calories out is true, but your body also needs some of those calories to run efficiently. I always feel like a banana gives me a little extra energy, I always have one before I work out. Theyre a little high in calories, but SOOO good for you. Dont give up just yet. Make a few adjustments, and hang in there!!!!! It will be worth it!!!!

On day 4 I had the same thing - I was so tired I just had to nap. But on Day 5 I upped my calorie intake just a bit and it seems to have taken care of it. Oh, and I ate the brown rice for lunch instead of dinner since I was more active in the day time than I am in the evening. Good luck!

Like the idea of eating the rice mid-day. I've been getting tired/weak/hungry in the afternoon. I've just been eating bean soup and I don't think it has enough in it to keep me going till my husband gets home from work and we eat dinner. (I am snacking too, but even after eating veggies or fruit I still feel hungry.)

Hi Sara, Everything that Junkymonkey has said above is correct. The most important though is number 1 - fewer calories in than out. The rest will come with time as you settle into it. Best of luck.
