ANNOUNCEMENT: IMLUUVD WILL NOT BE POSTING FOR AT LEAST A DAY OR TWO (maybe more).... SHE HAS HAD A VERY SEVERE BURN INJURY TO HER ARM (ABOVE THE WRIST ON THE LOWER ARM AREA) FROM HOT GREASE IN A SKILLET THAT SPLASHED ONTO HER ARM IN AN AREA ABOUT THE SIZE OF THE PALM OF YOUR HAND.
I guess from what she told me it must look pretty bad. She is on pain meds and will go back to the doctor tomorrow and they will look at the skin/tissue damage and talk about treatment then. tongiht is just drug her up for the pain and let her rest. Of course her blood pressure was through the roof because of the pain she was in.... so we'll find out tomorrow how she is doing.
when she called me I could tell she was in pain and being "emotional"... we both tend to get emotional when we are hurt bad or worried. She cried a little but it was her little 'cry and laugh at myself cry" that some doctor told her we were crazy for doing... but we do laugh and cry at the same time. She seemed concerned that she wouldn't be posting today or tomorrow... it might be longer. Though you would like to know.

Thanks so much for letting us know. I am so sorry that she has injured herself--and what a way to do it. I will say an extra prayer for her. I know what you mean about the laughing cry--I do it all the time. When I am injured or worried it is the laughter that makes me feel better, or at least like I can cope. I know some people think its pathological, but it gets me through. Glad to know I'm not the only one! Love you guys, and many hugs to ImLuvvd.

Thanks for the update on ImLuuvd -- I am so sorry about the injury - and it is quite painful - especially a burn of the size you described.

I was burned by scalding water on my legs when I was 2 1/2 and I still remember the doctor visits, the yellow salve and the funny scissors they used to cut away the bandages. I pulled a kettle of boiling potatoes off the stove and spilled it on my legs - I thought I would help my mom who stepped into the other room for just a moment......happy to report that it healed very well.

Let her know that she is in my prayers (as always.... along with all my other FS buddies!)

Wanted to let you know that I am praying for and thinking about you two. My wish is that you will heal quickly, Imluuved. Mom, I know that you are also feeling her pain and I pray for peace of mind for you. Hard to be a long distance mom! Been there before!
