Hey, hey, HEY!
!
Come one, come ALL!!
If you are interested in a fatsecret get together... I propose you this! Lets all write a letter to the Oprah show requesting a show on this great site and some of our motivational, inspiring and caring stories!! We have a lot of great wisdom on eating well here, we could even share some of our ideas... nationwide.
I think there are about 3 letters already sent in... so what do you say??? Let's give it our best shot and see what we find out!
I also propose that this be a HUGE MOTIVATOR for us continuing to lose,... to work even HARDER to look
EVEN BETTER ON TV!!
As well, to continue to motivate all of those who have met their goals to stay fit and healthy!!
Who's with me??
I see a challenge coming out of this.... MAYBE, just maybe Oprah would be willing to offer a prize to our challengers and winners!! lol I have no idea, but what do ya all think???
I say ....
LETS DO IT!!!
BTW.... We are submitting under "suggest a new topic" on the site!
I have my own personal, vacation weeks for sale in Mexico!! Feel free to email me for more info... $700 for 2adults, 2 children, 7 nights!! =D

Woohooo! Oprah, here we come! I have been toying with this thought for a while. I'm glad I spit it out because I think that if enough of us were to write in, we might just have a shot! Thanks for making the thread, bully
. It will be fun to see what folks have to say. The idea of an Oprah Challenge sounds great.

Okay, I just wrote up and submitted my letter to the Oprah show...I had to downsize it tremendously due to the 2000 character maximum!! Here it is, so you can see what I posted...not sure what everyone else sent.
______________
FatSecret.com (FS), its more than just a weight loss community; its an outpouring of support on all levels.
I encourage you to log onto FatSecret.com & check out my profile, Cheeks. I got married this past August 2007, a month later we found out that I was in pre-menopause/ovarian failure at age 38. Turns out, I have a genetic defect called Fragile X. Being an emotional eater, this news was devastating, & before we knew it, it was 7 months later, & we were both 30+ pounds heavier.
March 2008 my husband did a search & came across the FS site. We logged on, created profiles, & after a week of moving through the in's & out's of the site, we realized how beneficial the site really was. You could add food values, it would calculate points, keep a running tally. I found myself commenting on other members journals (one of the best features on this site in my opinion). Before I realized it, I was sharing my life with "strangers" on the site, and letting them into a part of me that I wouldnt have necessarily shared with someone I knew at say work. I read other profiles & realized that some were also experiencing things I was. As a result, I have actually been connected with someone who knows exactly what I'm experiencing because she also has the Fragile X gene.
Again, I ask you to log onto the site, see all the benefits it has, read journals, profiles, see all the encouragement everyone gives to other members, no matter what type of diet they are on (Atkin's, South Beach, Weight Watchers, etc.). Everyone is on this site for the same reason, to lose weight & receive support that they weren't getting elsewhere.
Oh, did I mention its FREE? Well…it is.
I'm not sure who created Fatsecret.com, but I can tell you that there isn't a day that goes by that I don't silently thank them for creating such a fantastic, supportive site.
Cheeks =)

I don't know about sending more letters. I do know that when I wrote mine I had a response from them in about a week or less. Then I had received a phone call from them and they wanted pictures to see what I looked like. From there they called me everyday and they were at my house within a week video taping. They move fast when they want to! lol
I think it will just take that "one" that gets noticed then they'll look into the others.

Has anyone heard anything yet? Somehow I think we should wait another couple of weeks and submit again?

Watched the news last night, and thought it was interesting that Oprah is talking about her weight gain again. Has anyone ever heard back from writing the show? I haven't.
