Hey All -

I have been on LA Weightloss for a couple of months now and am losing 1.5 a week.

When I first started, I decided not to go with any of the supplements or bars. Now, that my schedule is getting more hectic, I would like to incorporate bars and have done my comparison shopping on Luna bars and was psyched to start eating those.

I was told by my couselors that those would be "off plan", but I am not convinced. So I wanted to see if anyone out there has successfully incorporated Luna bars and are still experiencing the same weight loss as with the LA Lites.

I am not using any of their products much to their dismay. I really do not think it is healthy to train yourself psychologically to eat two candy bars a day. I prefer much healthier snacks. Fruit and veggies are just as portable as candy. I did really well early on in my program, but much slower since they switched to the new plans last year. I do think for my own body the new plans are too starch focused. I have had two huge plateau's and my weight loss is slow, which I attribute to a variety of factors. I think initially you can be very happy with a loss of 1.5 lbs per week. They tell you way more weight loss is possible than is normal. My regional manager told me a few weeks ago that a weight loss of 3 lbs/week for me should be no problem and then she proceeded to push their products. The average healthy weight loss for women is .5 lbs. I can live with that. Would be ecstatic with 1-2 lb loss, but I have been at this for 16 months now. I am looking at permanent life style changes not a quick fix with subsequent weight re-gaining.

I am a big eater of Luna Bars, my favorite flavors are the Chocolate Nuts and the Toasted Nuts and Cranberry. They are always coming out with new flavors which really impresses me.

They are also nutriitonally made for women and are a good meal replacement for on the go lifestyle.

eleigh, you were lucky not to have to buy products from the beginning. I was "forced" to buy bars as part of the program. And of course they are going to tell you the Luna bars are off plan, because then the counselors won't get their comission and they can't make more money off you. A lot of people on this site use the Luna bars and like them. I have not tried them yet though. Good luck whatever you decide!!!

I am typing this with the risk of upsetting some people iknow, but i kinda disagree with the earlier posts. I did LA weightloss last summer and lost a lot of weight with the bars and all. I gained it back only through laziness and restarted the plan on my own May 16th. I did not go rejoin the center, i just buy ny bars off e-bay and craigslist (la Weigh Loss Bars) and they really really work for me. I do the 2 protein, 2 starches, 3 fruits, 3 vegies, 1 fat, 1 dairy, 2 bars, and 64oz water program. i have now lost 21 lbs in 4 weeks. The only other thing i have incorporated the omega trim. I am definately not a councelor, but i am a true believer in the plan.....the whole plan.

I did the Lites for the 1st 6 weeks of my program, then got fed up with their price. I agree with Altoannie, this is a lifestyle change and you don't want to grow dependent on a product whether it be Lites, Lunas, or anything that comes in a box.
I bought Lunas (I know, it even says "Designed for Women" on the bar) and ate them religiously for 4-6 more weeks after my Lites ran out.
My councelors were great. I told them that the Lites were too expensive and that I was tring new things. Then when I went off Lunas, they adjusted my plan accourdingly to compensate for the calories I wouldn't be taking in from them or the Lites.

I say go with Lunas, or Lites, if it makes you stick with the program. As you're on it longer, you'll find that you don't need them anymore.

Z.

This also applies to people who aren't pre-diabetic or diabetic. Levelling out extreme insulin peaks and troughs is key to keeping hunger at bay, feeling good and losing weight.
