Welcome to the site! I am on Atkins too. My story isn't as dramatic but similar because I did Atkins before and had success, but listened to the nay-sayers and listening to that fear ended up in not-so-great results. Now I am back and so glad with the results so far. I have lowered my cholesterol and triglicerides and I am nearing my final goals. I plan to stay on the site though because I love all the people here.

If ever you are in doubt about the correct diet to eat, I recommend that you read "Good Calories, Bad Calories" by Gary Taubes. I have only read the first three chapters so far and it is quite eye opening. Welcome to the site and I hope that you do well on Atkins again.Very Happy

It takes willpower and I for one am having such great success however slow and steady, and have lost nearly twenty pounds in three and a half months. To some people that's not enough - about a pound a week - but I'm not starving and I feel healthier in years despite some arthritis pain, which fortunately is getting better... I am now a complete Atkins follower for a lifetime and will follow the program after I reach my goal weight and permanently avoid bad carbs so I don't get fat again. I am some 55 pounds lighter than my highest weight so I have a lot to be grateful for regarding this diet and there's no way I want to go back. Stick with the diet and with us and you will succeed!!! Smile

Today was great. No hunger and got a good walk in, viewing a farm. Just done a late run to the supermarket to lay in a few choice cuts of organic meat, some smoked salmon, and a new football for the dog. Time he got out of that basket and helped the old lady run off a few pounds!
