I am doing a low fat, calorie controlled diet based on the range of calories it would take to maintain my goal weight. I try not to skip meals or go below 1000 calories. I try to keep my calories within a range of 1000-1480, generally shooting for about 1200. I am doing calorie rotation, so I try to switch it up every few days, like 1200, 1250, 1100, 1450, etc. I'm not strict about it as long as I stay within my calories range though. I keep my fat at about 25 grams a day, give or take a smidge. Whether you want to have 3 meals or 5 meals is up to you, as long as your calorie deficit is low enough you will lose weight, no matter how you brake it up. I like to have snacks, one in the afternoon around 3, and one about 8:30.
