Day 3 GAIN!

This is my 3rd day of the SBD. I followed the plan for 2 days and now I weight more than I did before I started!! What's going on? Should I continue? Sad

We really need to see what you are eating to see what could be going on...can you add a food diary here?

are you exercising? usually the first couple of days on the reduced carb diets the weight lost is water weight, but if you've added exercise to your routine, you may be gaining muscle, which weighs more than fat.
I would say that if you've only been on for 3 days, you should stick it out for at least a week and see how it goes. Unless you are gaining ALOT of extra weight (like a couple of pounds a day)

If you're eating a lot of salt you might be holding water, and DEFINITELY journal, journal, journal! No mattter WHAT diet! It's so important!

To know wether any diet is working you have to give it time. Daily fluctuations are MEANINGLESS. As others have said, it could be water gain, but you don't measure your success of something this life-changing overnight. Your body has to adjust. Wait at least a week to weigh in again. Compare your weekly weight losses not daily weight losses. You should continue for at least a month before deciding that it doesn't work. Give it a chance. Wink

three days is not enough to say that a diet doesn't work. Salt, fat, etc. make a difference day in day out on the weight fluctuation..

try to stick it out for at least the 14 day phase 1!! i lost nothing the first week then lbs lbs lbs on the second some dont lose much till start phase 2 its about cutting out the cravings and dependancy on the sugars and carbs and if your anything like me this will be very hard but try not to weigh everyday waituntill day 7 from now till then and you might be pleasently suprised!!
LOL. You've took the first baby steps now just keep going one day at a time!

I have to agree with gardengranny, the Doc should be the one telling you if you are ok to continue or stop taking a medication. You could end up doing more harm than good.
