Hey All!
Started the Atkins today & was wondering how often should I weigh myself??? In past experience I was totally obsessed with the scales.....thought every little bit would help. Or is it best to wait and see bigger results??
Your thoughts and advise are greatly appreciated!
Cheers & happy......healthy eating!

I have done Atkins and during the first 2 weeks it is fun to weigh every day because the results are so awesome! After that you can cut back to whatever you are comfortable with. Good luck!

I would suggest not to weight yourself everyday, you should probably weight yourself once a week. The reason is that you may see water weight in between that may not give you a real weight. Plus we don't want you to get discouraged.

When I diet I get obsessed too.....like to the point that I run straight to the toilet in the morning and then to the scales just to see if its that lil bit more. I find it helps me keep motivated and it stays on my mind for the rest of the day so I dont want to eat anything wrong

My advice would be to to establish a routine and stick to it. My routine is to use the bathroom and weigh myself naked in the morning even before breakfast. I weight myself every other day just to make sure I'm on track. As long as the trend is losing weight I'm a happy girl.

I have to weigh EVERYDAY! When I don't weigh everyday, I worry about it all day! I get up every morning, use the bathroom 1 hour before I actually weigh in. I then get up after that hour and use the bathrom again an the I head for the scale. I have two scales one digital and the other one is analog. I really get a kick out of weighing everyday during induction. Good Luck and weigh as much as you want, use the scale as one way of measuring weight loss.

I usually weigh everyday as well... while I'm on the plan anyway, lol. Somedays you may be up a little but don't worry about that since we tend to carry water weight and other things. It's good to kind of keep a check in on the scale. It keeps you informed and on tract! No guessing if you need to cut back or exercise more when you weigh daily b/c you stay on top of things! No surprises!!
Diets are like a jar of jalapenos.... the choices you make today might just burn your butt tomorrow!!!

I'm obsessive and weigh every day. I would recommend weighing once a week AND measuring yourself weekly as well. If you really feel the need to weigh more than that I would suggest that you weigh mid-week as well, but no more than that. I would not weigh less than once a week so that if things aren't working you can tweak things a bit. Good luck!!

If you do weigh in once a week compare your results from a week ago. Daily weight fluctuations are meaningless.
Love the food that loves you back.
Take it one day at a time!
