I have to imagine that my weight will be up a bit when I wake up and weigh in a few hours, since Saturday was a day of sushi. Embarassed I don't know why, but sushi seems to be like potato chips to me -- I can't eat just one.

But! I'm on board with this challenge (I even changed my icon) and ready to lose 1% a week for six weeks.

By the way, am I the only guy in this challenge? It looks that way so far.

I think you can only change the color when you post a journal entry and you can make RED your default color - There is an option above the message area...apparently it will not post in color on the main page - but when you click on your journal and it pulls it up - it will show in red if you have chosen that......well I thought it was a good idea....the site is just not as technical as I thought it was Sad

Hey posse! I noticed most of you are on the South Beach Diet, something I've heard of but don't really know much about. I'm enjoying my current eating plan, but its very limiting in food selection. Would one of you mind checking it out and then telling me how it compares to the South Beach Diet? If it isn't too much of a change, maybe I'll pick up the South Beach book at Borders. Thanks!

Hey healsdata~

This looks very much like the South Beach diet or what I follow, too. I seriously believe that eating 5-6 small meals a day is imperative. I also believe that we should only eat until we "aren't hungry anymore". Along with tips like eating off of smaller plates, I recommend having 15-20 almonds pre-bagged up in zip locks for an easy, no counting snack or lite/low fat mozzarella sticks
or hard boiled eggs. I like the diet that you are doing, too! I have heard of it and think I"ve seen him on tv once or twice. Seriously considering the once a day off thing! I think there is something to the thyroid and keeping it functioning properly. I think you'd like the south beach diet, too. Smile I like that there is a good variety of foods and I also watch total caloric intake. www.thedailyplate.com thanks to info, is a life saver for me! It really helps me see what I am doing and what works for me and what does not. Each of us is different and our bodies will not always tolerate the same foods. If you have questions about south beach, just let us know!!

RIDE BABY, RIDE!! =D

Healsdata - Most of us met in the SB diet journals and that is why there are so many of us in this ride em' contest. It helps to share/journal with others who are following the same eating plan. I did take a look at your eating plan and it has some similarities, but I think it is more limited than SB diet - but you have to do what works for you - if the promise of one day off allows you to stick with it for the remaining days, then continue to stick with your current eating plan. My physcian whole heartedly recommends the SB eating plan to her patients - and I can't wait for my appointment next month to see how my lifestyle changes have improved my test results! The first phase of SB diet is more limited - but after that in phase II - so much more is added in moderation. I have seen men do particularly well on the SB plan - not sure why. I think by being completely 100% dedicated to the plan during Phase I - it sets the tone for the balance of your journey. Just a thought -- maybe after the 1st of the year try it for a few weeks and see how it works for you....however there are no days off for reckless abandon! Wishing you success in what ever plan you determine is easiest for you to follow....keep up the great work pardner and love the exercise you have added - it really does make a difference!!!
