I weigh myself everyday. I never used to, but I've found when I'm on a diet, noticing a daily weight loss (even .2 lbs) is encouraging. And if I gain, then it motivates me to follow my diet better that day. I know some people say it's not healthy to weigh yourself everday..... what do you think?

I weigh in every Monday as soon as I get up.It get's me down to weigh everyday. If I don't see a loss or if I see a added pound or two I freak out thinking I'm eating to much and then I end up cutting my calories or thinking "Oh well this diet is not working.Might as well eat." Embarassed

I weigh everyday as soon as I get up and pee (I know TMI! LOL) It helps me see if I added something different the day before how it effects me. Or If I changed up working out....how its working....yadda yadda. If I didnt weigh in everyday I think Id slip and say....well, Im not weighing in for another-however many- days....so I can cheat today. So it motivates me to stay on track everyday to weigh in.
Everyone definitely needs to do their own thing...what works for one may not work for another. Smile

I weigh in every morning but post on fridays. (Usually) That way if I go up a little I can evaluate the day before and FIX IT. Don't want to repeat the same mistakes....

I'm trying not to weigh myself in everyday... I get really anxious if I don't see any progress and lack of motivation which makes me eat more... I have to deal with this battle and fortunately I've found a great place to get much motivation as needed to achieve my goals (sparkpeople.com)

I'm not sure if the SBD suggested course is to weigh in daily or not but, I also weigh in daily for the same reasons amandilane states: encouragement and motivation (warning). Another thing that I am doing is counting calories (SBD guidelines do not include calorie counting) because it gives me a tight grip on what I consider the most important thing: calories in vs. calories out (yes, exercise is right up there too). Using FitDay.com's system (it takes a little getting used to) I can enter what I eat as the day progresses and it is almost effortless. Before, I used to do this manually and it was a real pain in the neck recounting the calories making it difficult to maintain the practice.
