I have gotten use to the hot water and lemon, actually like it, but I found if I sprinkle about 1/8 tsp of cayenne pepper in with it, my metabolism speeds up even more.

I drank that during my 10-day fast and had amazing results. I've always been a fan of lemon water. I actually drink it all day, everyday. It works as an appetite suppressant for me.

i squeeze about a 1/2 lemon into 8-10 oz of water. I guess it depends on your taste. Cayenne pepper, about 1/8 tsp,

Hi, I am wondering if this hot lemon water is used as a cleanse or just a dieretic (sorry...sp?)? It sounds similar to something my husband and I have used for years when we need a good cleansing and/or when fasting. Since we make it by the gallon the properties are like so: 1 gallon of pure distilled water to 8 oz. fresh lemon juice (pulp too is okay) then add pure maple syrup (this is good as it provides minerals and such) and cayenne pepper to taste. Each ingredient is important because it provides somethng essential to your body, however it is not wise to consume solely for longer than a 10 day period of fasting and cleansing. I usually only do 3 days before I get so hungry I start eating my own stomach! This is a good drink to try- though I admit I have never drank it hot and it sounds as if it might be pretty good. Also, do not store in plastic containers. Always use glass if possible.

The lemon water is part of a whole detox diet.
Yes you eat food on the plan
You drink the hot lemon water in the morning 20 minutes before you eat breakfast. It acts as a dierectic and adds an acidic value to your system.

I would suggest that you check it out from a library first and read it. Then if you find that you benefit from it, buy the book so you can mark in it, etc. Wink

Hello,

I'm also new to this plan and was wondering to save time if I could use bottled organic lemon juice instead of fresh squeezed?

Thanks for the advice on storing it only in a glass container; it makes sense to do that since lemons are so acidic they would probably break down plactic containers. Smile

Hi all. I'm reading the Fat Flush Plan book right now. I like her explanations and tips. I find it complements my Atkins plan and that using her tips will help me transition into the Maintenance phase of Atkins. I've been drinking the lemon water for a few weeks and I really like it. I need to detox my liver from all the abuse (albeit legal, with hormone pills, prednizone, antibiotics and tylenol) that I have done to it. I also started the LL coctail today. I like how it makes me feel more "clear". Smile

Love the food that loves you back.

sararay, have you ever tried chlorella for detoxing/chelation?

I use it often now (something like 3 months on, 3 months off). I bought it without believing a lot in the whole detoxing or chelating thing, but since it is a type of seaweed, I thought "worse case scenario, I'm getting some minerals so it won't be completely useless". It is supposed to be extra effective for any hard metals you may have absorbed, like mercury in fish or in metal dental fillings.

I started taking and giving it to my husband too. First 4 days, I was really sick, queasy and going to the toilet all the time, with no changes in diet at all. After about 2 weeks, I noticed my allergies had improved (I have the sniffles type of allergies, and also unexplained rashes often). For example, I can eat mangoes, but if they touch my face at all when I eat them, I'll get a rash there - I was a lot less sensitive to that, and I didn't sneeze as much.

He started taking it and he had a rash all over his body the first few days! I never had any metal fillings, but he's had a lot of them over the years (at that time they had all been replaced already). So I am a believer. It does seem to get whatever is poisoning you out of your system.

I have heard of it, but I haven't used it. I'll look into it. I was exposed to mercury when I was a kid so I'm interested in detoxing heavy metals before I try to get pregnant. Thanks for the info.

If anyone was wondering about the lemon cleanse I mentioned earlier, you would not eat during this clease, which is why you would fast for 3 to 10 days. I believed when I posted it originally I was asking the person who brought up the subject how close this cleanse is to the FF lemon drink. I did not get a reply. THIS cleanse is not FF, but I highly recommend it and it cannot hurt your FF diet at all.

This is a great time to make your own cranwater while they are in season. I get a bag of cranberries for 99 cents here so you are saving bundles; it is however, a little time consuming.
