I have been having the same problem. My conclusion is that I'm going to work on my abs every time I work out. I have started at 300 sit ups and some times I do 400. You can mix it up or just do one type. It really is not that hard. I think I am starting to see some results. good luck

300-400 situps (!!!) and still have problems with your abs. I'm starting to get depressed. Smile

My trainer teaches me that you have to do abs very slowly to get results. Count SLOWLY to 3 on the way down and to 5 on the way up. Also Pilates are great for abs; you can get results in a week!

I have a friend who is a body builder and says that crunches are all well and good, but the key to getting those tight defined abs is holding in your stomach. He says to start at 5 seconds and work your way up to 1 minute. It's also good to hold your abs tight while exercising. Last, but not least...BREATHE while doing it. It was good advice for me and I'm seeing results even at my size.

The part about holding your stomach in is very interesting, sounds very yogaish. Thanks pinkskullery!

I have the DVD "10 Minute Solution" and did the workout for Pilates for abs. It only took 10 min. but late that day I knew I work-out my abs. I was doing a 100 mini sit-ups before. I'm trying to mix-up different exercises so work different parts of my abs. This DVD is really good, some of moves I cann't do yet, I just make up a simple verison of the move and eventually I be to do it.Wink

when you exercise to get nice abs, you might get really awesome muscles underneath a layer of fat. this actually makes it harder to burn fat b/c your body will try to get rid of your muscles first. so i had a nutritionist tell me to lose weight first and then tone up... so don't forget to do your cardio with your ab toners...

i'm also trying to get my abs back... Smile
