They sure are tasty, but which bars offer similar nutritional value and where to get them?

Any help would be great!

A friend told me that she bought some bars called "Pure Protein"
if I'm not mistaken and the ingredient labels were the same. She
bought them from Wal-Mart. Hope this helps!

I saw some chewy granola bars by Curves at the grocery store. They were pretty similar.

I saw this posting started a while ago, but can someone please tell me if we have to buy the LA Lites from the center. I just purchased enough lites for my weight loss and stabilization. I can't bear the thought of having to purchase more of them for a year after for maintenance.

No, you do NOT have to buy the LA Lites! I bought 2 boxes just to see what was in them. I took the label and matched them up nutritionally with something close. I use LUNA bars instead and so do many people on this site. You can find them at Wal-Mart for 97 cents each and they taste better than LA Lites and come in more flavors. Some flavors are lower in fat and calories than the Lites! I hope this helps!

Oh boy, does it help! I just wish that I had discovered this site before I spent $700 on 30 weeks worth! I am really annoyed about this. Not only that, I decided while I was making the purchase, I would buy the recipe book as well. After I spent the money, the counselor presented me with $70 worth of LA Dollars to use as I pleased. Why couldn't she just tell me not to buy the book until I got the "free money"? I know they are just trying to make a buck, but is $700 not enough!

Um, yeah, I definitely got suckered into paying $1,500 for a year's worth of LA Lites. As much as I didn't want to pay it, they kept on and on, and acted like they wanted nothing to do with me unless I got them. But, I actually do like the caramel ones, and they're convenient...and it saves a trip to the store. Not to mention, knowing that I spent $1,500 makes me stay on track for sure! lol So, there are a lot of negatives, but there are some positives to them, as well.

I actually just looked at the contract I signed and it does say that part of the deal is the purchase of the LA Lites. Is this something new? I just joined last Monday so maybe it's something they just started. Maybe they caught wind of the fact that people were purchasing other products and decided to make it mandatory to buy their products. Who knows! My husband will make sure that I stay on this diet too now that I just spent so much money. It certainly will keep me on track too!

I refused to buy them....you do not have to. They still have to work with you, it is just that their guarantee is void and null I think if you don't use the bars. Never let people strong arm you into buying things you do not want. Just because we are overweight does not mean that we are stupid and poor consumers. I just am not able to afford the bars and I really do not think they are nutritionally sound. There are lots of better products out on the market.

Ruzzagirl, is there not a center that you could drive to so you can get your bars? What about calling the corporate office and see if you could get them somehow. I mean if you paid for them, they should help you out and get them to you somehow. I know they are expensive, but I love them! I did buy a small bulk of them, and I really dont regret it. But when I run out I'm gonna try the Luna bars. I hope they are good. Cause I know i'll need something to help my craving.

LA Weightloss is a HUGE SCAM!!! I signed up last week for the $200 plan. I was told I can lose all the weight I want at two pounds per week. Since I want to lose 30 pounds, my membership would last 15 weeks. Well, I decided not to buy the LA Lites because I could get lyposuction cheaper than the cost of the bars. So, when I went in today for my third visit, I told the girl that I am now eating the Luna bars in place of the LA Lites. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with me once she found this out. She put me on a different plan and said the Luna bars are not part of their plan, so they will not support me now if I do not continue to lose weight. Also, she said my new plan consists of more protein and an additional serving of vegetables in order to make up for the LA Lites I've decided not to purchase. I told her that I was just replacing their bars with Luna bars and that I wanted to stick to my original plan. She said that I had to switch to the new plan, which means I need to eat more because they have to pretend that I'm not eating the Luna bars, since they're not part of the plan. Of course this is what they'll do because they want you to eat more so that you'll gain weight and they can blame it on the Luna bars!!!! I'm sticking to my original plan and replacing the two LA Lites with Luna Bars. They taste better than the Lites, and they are way cheaper!!! You can purchase them online (just search google or ebay), or you can buy them at Target for $5 per box of 6 or 99 cents per bar. Screw LA Weight Loss! I will continue to go because I want to prove them wrong by showing them that I will meet my goal using the Luna Bars. I know this program works because I've seen many people lose lots of weight, but it really is just a scam to get your money. How much can it cost to produce those bars???? Their employees are all young and do not know the least about anything. I asked one counselor a question about the program and she said, "I know, it's really hard to explain." That was it! Plus, I was supposed to discuss the "carb cravers" today, but the girl was so disgusted with me not purchasing the Lites, that she just weighed me (and I lost three pounds), and then lectured me about not using the bars. What a scam!!!!!! This place should be shut down!

I have to laugh in approval at your topic. Alot of the stuff that they do is a rip off. I eat the Luna bars too and I think they're quite yummy, specifically the Cookies and Cream, Chai Tea, and Chocolate Nut Brownie. I also don't do the take off shakes. Instead, I use oranges. And to be honest, I'm not really paying to be on thier plan. My aunt and cousin are both paying to be on it, so my aunt went to Kinkos and copied their book for me. It's a bit too rich for my blood. I still weigh in twice to three times a week and I use this site for motivation to keep me going. From what I've read, on every site I've ever pulled up on LA Weight Loss, thier counselors are just past members that were successful on the plan. They try to hawk the bars and shakes because they get a commission on it. I think that paying for LA Weight Loss is great only if the constant one on one meetings are what you need to stay on track. I can see how this would be the most helpful part of the plan. But anyway, keep eating those yummy Luna bars and go prove LA Weight Loss wrong. Cheers. Smile
It's not so much about the weight I lose as it is about the confidence that I gain.

Most good one on one or group diet programs aren't cheap. The program is designed around the bars, and if you aren't following the program how it was designed, they don't want to guarantee your weight loss. I can understand that.

Yes, I can understand it too. It is desgined this way for a reason. And yes, they work on commission, but you cannot begrudge that cause, we all have to make a living. The program works and that is hard to dispute. Everything has a price, that's life!

Swarth, you do what you want and need to do. You DON'T have to buy the bars, period. So don't feel bad about it and you keep your head up and prove them wrong. Thats just nonsense that they act like they wont help you. If I were you I wouldn't go to that same counselor next time. I would ask to talk to someone else, if you can. We have atleast 2 girls in my center at a time, and I ask to wait for a specific girl, if I want to. Next time you go DOWN on the scales, just smile and say 'See I dont need your bars' Bad Grin Haha. Ok, that was mean, but sometimes you just wanna rub it in. Tee-hee. People do the plan without the bars everyday. Your doing great!

I do agree - I eat a High protein/High fiber cereal for breakfast - 15 grams of protein, 8 grams of fiber in 3/4 cup. They told me that I should really eat at least one egg instead to get protein. I said are you kidding, did you hear me 15 grams .. well the program says cereal is a starch and you need a protein source. Oh well...I give.
