They say you should drink at least 8 glasses a day. I often forget. My new trick is to drink a glass of water every time I am craving something sweet. It fills you up! I'm not saying I dont still want that dark chocolate sitting there, but it does help eat less/ crave less...

If I drank 8 glasses of water a day my boss would cut my pay in half as I'd be in the bathroom for half the day Laughing

Most of the diets I've read have water as a must have so it's probably the only universally agreed nutrition item for all diets.

If you drink lots of water and also drink lots of coffee or tea the bathroom will be a very familiar place. I feel like a bit of a camel as I have been drinking heaps and storing it somewhere.

I had such a whopper of a headache yesterday afternoon, I drank heaps of water to clear it away but it didnt help. I woke up this morning and decided to not drink coffee until next week to try and detox a little.

If only there was a water tap on every street corner we'd all be skinny!

A good tip for car drivers. Us subway users just have to grab a bottle when buying a pretzel...just kidding Laughing

i try and have a bottle or large glass by my desk at work at all times so it's always there to remind me to drink-up. otherwise i tend to forget about it and can go a whole day sometimes without drinking any.

everyone should have a line of sight to the water cooler i say

I bring two one-liter bottles to work with me and try to challenge myself to have both bottles drunk before quitting time. The first few days, I spent alot of time in the bathroom, but it finally evened out.

Thats a great idea. I am going to try it. I always drink a bottle of water when I wake up (and for some strange reason when I drink it I always think that I am watering my insides like watering the garden), but forget to drink when I am at work.

getting up from your desk to get a glass of water, is also exercise, and they say, every little bit helps.

Water is a good hunger suppresant too. Not very interesting but if you need a bit of a kick add some low calorie cordial to the mix to sweeten it up.

I experimented with the 6 week body makeover by Michael Thermon and according to him we should drink 100+ oz. of water per day. This seemed like a lot to me and when I did Weight Watchers I never would drink the water the way they said. But lately I've set that 100 oz per day as my goal and I found that I've stopped retaining water. Lots of restroom trips - but I really think it helps.

How can you tell whether you're retaining water. I drink a lot of water...bottles everywhere...but I've never stopped to think about how much is being retained and how to stop retaining it...Smile

I lost 30 pounds oon my plan. Then I plateaued. Wouldn't budge. Kept doing everything the same. Then we figured out that the water intake for the plan is for a 150 pound individual. I weigh 300! So we doubled the water, and I started losing again. Everything started happening once I started the water at the correct level. My desire for coffee stopped, too! You need more water than you think. This worked for me,I hope it works for you, too.

I bought a 64 oz travel mug from the local convenience store, and every morning when I get to work, I fill it up with ice. Then I use my Britta filter, since the water in our building is kinda yucky. I LOVE ice cold water, so my huge travel mug keeps ice all day and I never run out of it.

I have more troubles at home, or on the go, but I'm working on it. If I know I'll be in the car for a while, I'll put a bottle of water in the freezer to keep it cold longer, etc.

I've also only had one soda in the last month. It tasted really good, since I'd gone from a "Coke-addict" to just water, but also because I made the deliberate decision to have a coke instead of water, rather than having it be an impulse.
