I went from morbidly obese to being the owner of TABDIG - a weight loss coaching service that helps people worldwide losing weight. It's been an amazing journey. From October 4th 2010 to April 3rd 2012 I lost half my body weight - 80 kilos/170 lbs. Since then, I have had two cosmetic surgeries to remove excess skin. I have now quadrupled my strength, gained several kilos in muscle mass, and today I focus on building muscle, optimizing my diet, living healthy and helping people to reach the very same goals. I am stronger, healthier, thinner, happier! If you feel that you need help losing weight, don't hesitate to send me an inbox message.

Messing around on Google, I found a link to the full 2 Meal Solution e-book. This is basically what I base my entire eating pattern and workout plan on. This guy is brilliant.

You can get the book here, but I suggest you BUY it. It's five dollars, and the guy put a lot of effort into writing it. Support him, please.

This book turned my weightloss/workout view completely upside down, and I wouldn't DREAM of changing anything.

I know, it sounds like I work for the guy. I don't. I just love the changes he pushed me to do. It's easy, simple and smart. Why do anything else? Smile

Great! Of course, it was Keld who had me trying this at first. But the article had some great backup to explain the science. I will check out that site, Keld. Daily fast coming to an end and time for my workout. Then a nice breakfast/lunch at noon. Have a super weekend!

The article you posted, Draglist, is GREAT! It really boils it all down and makes it easy to swallow, so to day. I like!

I gotta say, finding Intermittent Fasting has made this entire journey SO MUCH EASIER for me. I would NEVER consider changing back again!

Thanks, Keld! I really liked it. With all the theories I'm learning, I like going back and re-reading to keep it fresh in my mind. Had my brunch at 10 am today (until noon -- a nice, long, relaxing meal), and here I am at 4:45 pm and still completely satisfied. If I have anything, it will be very small and I'll look forward to my next meal 16 hours later.

I'm going to give this a try. I've done well so far today. Three hours left and I will have reached a 24 hour fast, per the article. Granted, I ate enough yesterday that I could probably still be fine on a 48 hour fast.

I considered doing the alternate day fasting, but I'm afraid that will cut too far into my intake. So, I'm going to try one day a week for a 24 hour fast (probably from Saturday evening through Sunday evening of each week). I will let you know how it goes.

Will be interesting. None of us -- I think -- have taken the more radical complete 24 hour fast yet.

Downloaded the PDF today from your link Keld. http://www.theiflife.com/2-meal-solution/bas073jd/ Thanks. Still reading the book, but has some interesting ideas. And thanks Draglist for this thread. Intermittent Fasting (IF) may fit my new life style (Retired) I sleep late and thus can have the late morning meal, complete my daily activities and have the evening meal and still stay within the non-fasting window.

Since I am successfully doing my CICO (Calories in/calories out) diet and losing 2 pounds a month I won't try the IF plan until I hear from a few others who do work it. Drag and 2ManyCurves, please keep us posted on your results. Hopefully in a new thread since this one may will be low on the pages after a while.
Thanks, Glaun

Draglist - I have done the 24 hour fast several times, but not as an ongoing thing. Fasting 24 hours is SURPRISINGLY easy. Consider it. You're already at 16 hours every day when you do the 16:8 thing. If you normally "just skip breakfat" then just skip lunch too.

I have talked about it a few times in earlier journals (don't ask me when), and I feel it like a "reset" of my hunger feelings.

It makes me feel that I am much more in touch with when I am hungry and when I am not. And, mostly, it turns out that I am NOT hungry. It's an amazing experience, and something that really has helped me.

I am never hungry. Ever. Not even when I have gone very low in my calorie intake or food volume. It just doesn't happen. And should I have a day where I am truly hungry, then I'll just eat.

Glaun - The 2 Meal Solution version of things is STILL CICO. Make sure that you don't "abuse" it to lower your calorie intake further. You'll see, as you read through it, that there are other advantages than weight loss to this. Smile

My own personal experience of this (16 days in) is that on a 5:2 the two fast days for me works best with 24 hour fasts and it continues to amaze me just how easy it is I never feel hungry, though mentally sometimes, especially if Im bored, Im thinking it would be nice to eat, but its a mental thing and not hunger pangs. On those days I eat between 550 - 700 calories as an evening meal ony, and neither the fast day or the next day affects me working out at the gym. My results thus far have been amazingly easy and effective and more importantly sustainable. One side benefit I've noticed too - I have a badly arthritic right foot due to playing semi professional football (soccer) in my younger days, the specialist says its degenerative and nothing outside cortisone will help - yet over the last week or so there has been an amazing improvement, the like of which Ive never seen before, I can only put it down to fasting as its the only change Ive made to my lifestyle. Perhaps someone a lot smarter than me can explain it, but Im really happy with my lifestyle and the health benefits and steady weightloss.

Steve, isn't that just amazing? I'm happy to hear that you see other benefits than just losing weight. Of course, the weight loss in itself will give you less pain - and often faster than you'd think.
I know that many of us have "side effects" like these. It's just incredible.
Personally, my whole life has been turned upside down from losing weight. From little things like getting out of the couch with no effort to massive things like being off my heart and blood pressure medicine and to starting new jobs...

Hi Keld so glad to hear you are doing well and I read your posts avidly. Since I made this observation earlier in the day re my foot I did a little research and talked to the friend of mine who put me onto this lifestyle. He is an engineer and did a lot of research before he started nearly two months ago. He tells me that there is some science that shows when you fast it forces the body to repair cells it wouldn't normally repair if it was getting lots of fuel (food) and this is why its been shown to help slow down the onset of Alzheimer's (A subject dear to my heart as my Mother suffered terribly before she passed away a few weeks ago) So Im asking myself is it possible that if this is true some of the repairs have been made in my foot? Im still waiting for myself to answer but its interesting isn't it? seriously on a scale of 1-10 and 10 being cut my foot off PLEASE a couple of weeks ago I was feeling a 6 - 7 daily and taking powerful anti-inflammatorys every day, and I still walked with a slight limp. These last few days its been a 2 - 3 and I haven't had a tablet in nearly a week, and no limp. I know its been proved fasting extends life, and the quality of life but if this is true about my foot its simply mind boggling. And that begs the question why isn't this more widely known? I guess because no-one is making money out of it selling you supplements or meal replacement shakes etc. Anyway its interesting isn't it?

It's very interesting. I wouldn't think that a couple of weeks would be enough to see results like this form the fasting as such, but maybe also a changed focus on foods would do some good. Food can make changes surprisingly fast.
Still - who cares what makes the difference as long as the difference is there, right? Smile

All fascinating. I actually have a copy of the research journal article that explains the theory of how maintaining a calorie deficit (in an ongoing manner) extends life. I will find it and post the link.
