I am not a vegan but I am as close as you can get before making the jump to vegan from veggie.

in the past 3 years.. i was vegetarian for almost three years, raw diet for 30 days, and vegan for a year... but started eating seafood again in april 09'..... best awesome feel good diet is raw diet all the way... but you really have to be creative and rich enough to buy all sorts of nice fruits and veggies...and tons of it!! but anyways i know i will never eat meat again... i love seafood which is why i gave back in to it... plus i was always so sickly... but i guess i don't even eat it that much now... anywhos just wanted to say hey to fellow vegssss!

whats a casomorphine??

aw thats a shame that you started eating poor little sea creatures again! but you got to go with your own beat i suppose. i bet it is well expensive being raw! they have loads of fancy gadgets and stuff ey?

Does no one ever get like horrible dreams where they eat fish and chips or a big mac and wake up almost vomiting or crying? or is it just me??

Casomorphine is part of what's left over after someone digests milk. It's been linked to some interesting brain interactions. These negative effects increase drastically when the milk isn't from an organic, free range source. Kinda like pass the pain.

As a vegan do you know any good sources of B12? I have problems with B12 absorption, but would happily go vegan otherwise.

I'm veggie but not vegan. And I'm on Atkins!

Brave or slightly over-optimistic - not sure! - but hey it works, and works very well.

I'm vegan...well and pregnant. But still sort of dieting. Ok, keeping my weight in check. I don't want to have a baby and then be a fatass....

B12... Marmite is loaded with the stuff, Miso paste, the darker the richer its b12 content, Fortified cereal and soy milk... It depends where abouts you are but there are some pretty good online stores that sell suppliments specifically designed for vegans.

Congratulations Cali! That sounds so awesome! Let me know how your vegan pregnancy goes as i know a lot of people who are skeptical about my decision to be vegan and are worriend if/when i should choose to start a family! (also my elder sister had a baby boy a year ago, but got pregnant while trying to change to vegetarian. She gave up when she got pregnant with the reasons that she wanted the baby to be healthy, which i found a bit backward to be honest...)

Also my food nightmares are never about binging or over eating, only ever about eating animal producs, like things with lots of melted cheese on them and softboiled eggs. But the worst is when i dream about eating fish or meat flesh. There have been times when i have woke with a start and then actually vomited and often hysterically crying. i feel really guilty about these dreams for a long time after, but try my best not to think about them or over analyze them.

lol! I had a nightmare a few days ago that I ordered a salad and it had cheese on it but I was so hungry I ate it anyway... One thing led to another and the next thing I knew, I was binge eating ham! I woke up terrified. Thank god it was only a dream Smile
