Started Keto Feb 7, decided not to weigh. May 30th I had a Bone Mineral Density and it required a weight. I should not have looked at the scale, but I did to find I had LOST WEIGHT. Since that day I have been REWARDING MYSELF. Not able to get back on the wagon, but not gaining either. I am a junk food addict and promise not to go there again. I will try.

My scale is inaccurate, like I could just weight myself and then try again 10 minutes later and I would weigh something completely different. I stopped using it, and I use waist, neck, and hip measurements.

Daily weight will fluctuate due to glycogen storage and water, dehydration, womanly problems... - weight will go up and down. However it is the overall "average" trend that counts. If you sum all the daily weigh ins and average it out (per week, per 2 weeks, per month), it should decrease assuming you're in a calorie deficit.

If you weigh yourself once a week and you do it under different conditions each time (e.g. not identical weigh-in time, over eating the night before/carb loading or eating lots of sodium foods that make you hold water, or dehydrating) it will make your weight jump from all over the place, even though for the other 6 days you followed your diet to a T and will just confuse you in the end because your trends will be based on inaccurate data. Whereas with daily weigh ins you have more data points to use and better general understanding with whats happening with your bodyweight.

I weigh myself most days, and keep track in a spreadsheet. I don't update FatSecret every day, though. It works for me because it keeps me thinking about being healthy. I always weigh in the same way, at the same time: right after getting up, after going to the bathroom, no clothes. Still, it jumps around a bit from day to day, but the general trend is what I'm interested in. I don't expect it to go down every day, and I don't try to associate my weight one day with what I ate the previous day. I try to keep a longer time horizon, and that works for me.

Everyone should read this post. Nice. If you're truly in a deficit or surplus it will show over time when you take an average of your weigh-ins. Also, you can find apps that will do this for you.
Consume whatever foods you prefer, whenever you prefer to consume them, while ensuring nutrient sufficiency and meeting caloric goals.

Mid section

what is your goal weight, 5'3 and 5'4 ladies?
I'm 5'4" and my goal weight is 165. I must be very dense because even at 209 I wear size 16. At 165 I'll probably wear 8 which I'm super happy with.
