Saw that this am on the news. He sort if reminds me of a crooked used car salesman.

He talks about being the "victim" of internet diet scams where people are using his endorsement without his permission. I'm guessing that what he's REALLY upset about is that he hasn't collected an endorsement fee from them.

To me the whole Dr Oz show is like the Woman's Day magazine in a tv format.

Of course he's gotta get attention getting headlines on his show. How could he pull that show off 300 days a year without them? Thanks for the link Vickie. I hadn't seen that segment.

Here is a post from his page... which I was impressed with... I think he realizes maybe just a little, that he has become part of the problem and not the solution...
""I was pleased that the hearing yesterday dealt with some complicated issues and had all the players present whose cooperation will be necessary to move forward in protecting the consumer. For years I felt that because I did not sell any products that I could be enthusiastic in my coverage and I believe the research surrounding the products I cover has value. I took part in the hearing because I am accountable for my role in the proliferation of these scams and I recognize that my enthusiastic language has made the problem worse at times. To not have the conversation about supplements at all, however, would be a disservice to the viewer. In addition to exercising an abundance of caution in discussing promising research and products in the future, I look forward to working with all those present yesterday in finding a way to deal with the problems of weight loss scams""

Hopefully his show will revert back to the health issues instead of product promotion.

Yes, mummydee, I agree.

Good PR move, well written. He's made a lot of scammers rich.

In my prior post I meant 'Woman's World' magazine and not Woman's day'.

Always laugh at the 'womens world' magazine and can't help but think of 'So I Married an Axe Murder" with Mike Myers and his mom's always quoting from it.

Women's World, I was looking at that at the beauty shop waiting to get my hair cut sat. IT had a few interesting nutrition tidbits. Like 1/2 cup of legumes per day increases happiness because they increase your cortisol levels. Mmm might check that out. actually don't remember the others...

Women's World - I used to love that magazine. It was light and fluffy but generally fun. I haven't picked one up in at least a decade so I'm sad to hear what it seems to have partially regressed to.

@mummydee - thanks for the quote from Oz. I agree that it's good to see him admit his part in the problem. You're right, I do hope he returns to a focus on health.

new here- the only vegan to gain weight
Good lord vegans can gain. I don't now where the stereotype of a scrawny pasty faced vegans came from but it's WRONG! I second the healthy fats and proteins for hunger control.

This is a good starting point, but you really need an exercise plan to maximize the results. Even if it is just walking. Get moving!
