I would like to add you lovergirl654. I too hate the morbid obese title so now I would have to change that. I like your spunk and I need as many positive buddies around me as I can get. I am at my heaviest of 319. I always said once I break that 300 mark it is definitely time to do something.I just wished that I qdidnt have to weight that long. But I am not living with regret just lessons. So here we go. I hate going to the gym as my job has a gym with all the latest equipment. Good thing is noone is there so I am free to do what I gotta do and not feeling like everyone is watching me. SO here's to new beginnings. BTW love your analogy with the job and working out....It fits sooo perfect

I just sent a buddy request - I was briefly over 300 when I knew that it was really time to get it under control. I'm at 285 now and hope to only go down - I would really like to be just overweight for once! :0)

I seemed very focused down to 285 but I've been struggling getting down from there. I need to find it but I haven't given up - just trying to not go up while I focus about going down... How is everyone else doing?

That was me in the 320's you can see by my log I literally went dorment in the 320s because I didn't lose the passion, but lacked the effort. Once I realized that I was not going to get down any further unless I made the effort I got right back to it and here I am on the down swing again.

It really takes remembering your overall goal and remembering how much time you are wasting by not making the effort today. I remember something that my pastor told me a while back that stayed with me regarding college and I apply it to just about everything in life now.

"Time will pass whether you do what you have in mind or not...the difference is that a year from now you will either be saying I lost 100lbs in a year or I COULD have lost 100 pounds by now! The choice is up to what you do Today!"

OH my goodness....why haven't I seen this group before ! ?
you guys are great, so much support from people who REALLY understand the struggle of truly overweight people !
I lost quite a bit and then hit a long plateau stretch and little by little it got away from me and I have regained 60 of the 91 pounds I lost !
Now I'm back ---and it has been harder this time than last...and OH YEAH...I've said that sentence ALOT...I Could have lost 100 by now ...if I hadn't buried my head in the sand !

Hey Welcome TOFU! Yes I need buddies to help keep me focused as well so please do join us. I try to check in from time to time but I go dormant when I mess up. So, I have been around a lot lately because I can not afford to mess up any further.

I definitely know the struggle as I am in the middle of it myself. Even though I have come so far I still have over 100 lbs to lose to reach my goal and that can bring me down sometimes. Nonetheless, I know that if I just do this how it is supposed to be done and make sure I stay focused I will be there in no time and it will be like I am in a dream. I can't wait...and that is what keeps me going!

I did Medifast a while back and lost 62lbs!!!! but then gained it all back and somemore to TOP out at 412lbs...from there I had a baby and haven't looked back since. So I do know the up and down struggle. This time around I have lost more with real food and exercise.

Right now, though, I am going through one of the biggest challenges in a duo type of way. I am soooo close to 300lbs and want it so bad but it feels sooo far away and 2) Mother nature is hoarding water!!!! LOL. So I have literally worked my butt off these last few days just to see the SAME WEIGHT everyday. BUT the positive to this is that usually I would have gained during this time which shows that I must still be losing fat but just gaining the water weight too so I am breaking even. UGHHHH....

We are here for you! LOL Smile

That's awesome!!! I just recently dropped in to the "overweight" category, when my BMI went below 30 for the first time (at about 60 pounds lost, right to 200). I love the goals and rewards you have on your profile. When I get to 75 pounds off I either want a LV bag (preowned) or a new refrigerator.....I can tell you what my hubby will say about that LOL !!!!! (he'd vote for the fridge). Heck, might do both!!! You are rocking this !!!!!

My journey started May 15, 2013 at 260 pounds with Weight Watchers. I'm continuing with this wonderful lifestyle plan and support program, and am now adding Fat Secret calorie tracking to what I am already doing. I can now use both in reaching my goal weight and then to ensure I don't return to the unhealthy eating and lifestyle habits I'm working so hard to discard permanently.

One day at a time, one pound at a time. I am CAPABLE and CAN DO IT !!!

My ticker is not always consistent with my actual weight...

I can not wait until I can say that I am just overweight instead of morbidly obese. You know the thing I hate is that I can google morbidly obese or morbid obesity exercises and every post I read made it sound like we can BARELY move or are incapable of lifting an arm. I mean I know the higher you go that this may be true, but for me it wasn't true. I mean yea things were tougher and I surely won't be running any marathons any time soon, but I am not the visual of what most describe even though I was over 400lbs. I just get tired of that stigma that we are not capable of much or can barely move. I mean I have to move and go to work etc etc. I just love FOOD! HEHE.

anyway, that vent is over.

Thanks for the congratulations and I must keep going so that I can say what you all are saying that my BMI has reached the overweight category. Ahhh to see the day!

Lovergirl, thanks for posting that you'd lost 50 lbs since starting this thread. It's a good reminder that this WILL work if we just keep at it. I've been on the couch all day yesterday and today with a fever. Wondering how this will affect my ketosis? I was doing great until this hit. Now, of course, I haven't eated much the last 2 days, and no exercise. Will my body go into starvation mode? Or will I just pick up where I left off, with my body turning to body fat for fuel? Any guesses?
