fluid retention! ugh!

Absolutely. It sounds counter-intuitive, but up your water intake with salty foods, or, rather, high-sodium foods. The more water you give, the more water you will flush.

No loss at all after 2 1/2 weeks
Silver Sneakers has great exercise options to strengthen muscles using a chair, stretch bands, etc. As we know, muscle is more efficient at burning calories.
