do you regret losing the weight?

A question I was asked today by a woman in the doctor's office. I told her I wasn't happy with how my skin was wrinkled and drooping. Making me a bit self-conscious. And she asked if I regretted losing the weight. Gave it about half a second thought and told her no, of course not. That I was healthier now (this was before I tried to commit suicide by food) then I've been in probably 40 years. She snorted and said she'd rather be fat and have smooth skin.

Each to their own.

How could anyone say that they would rather be fat than have loose skin? I mean, I understand that no one wants loose skin, but fat can kill you. Loose skin stinks, but I would take that over death any day. I guess you're right. To each his own, but in this case, I think that this woman had no idea what she was talking about.

Surgical and non-surgical procedures to tighten skin are a fraction of what it costs to get weight-reducing liposuction, or stomach banding.
You can get a pretty basic series of laser-treatments to firm-up your face, neck and hands, if it's really bothering you.
The way i see it, i keep the money i would have spent on junk food and put it towards beautiful things. My designer accessories, holidays and beauty-treatments make me feel better than fried food ever could!
Was it Kate Moss that said "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels"?
Skinny feels good, loose skin, stretch-marks and all!

Besides, given time, your skin will adjust on it's own. My mum lost about 40kg over a few years, and her skin has started tighten, particularly on her face and neck. It's still taking time since she's still losing weight, but it is definitely happening.

I think it's important to love and accept our bodies and differences graciously without comparing.

I'm not losing WEIGHT. I'm converting FAT to MUSCLE to be healthier.

Let's see, I remember how I used to waddle when I walked, dreading shoe shopping because I couldn't reach my feet and being embarrassed to go out with my husband. I may not like my loose skin but I think I can live with it!

Um, no. She's a goofus.

That's like asking if you're disappointed you had your appendix removed because now you have a scar. For real?

Losing weight slowly is the answer or will help the saggy skin a bit, but at 58 we have another enemy known as GRAVITY ! it works! Chin droop, boob droop and now elephant knees! I know that "Perky" will never be an adjective to describe a body part of mine ever again but really? Shock
