When to go to phase 2

I would also avoid the 'ATKINS' products while in induction.. yes they say they are good for phase 1 but the alcohol sugars in their bars and shakes do stall some people, including myself... and maybe you. Don't take the chance with them till you're further along and well into ketosis.

Thanks for the info. Yes I have the Atkins books and I have read it. My personal trainer has recommended this diet and has talked to me about it. I was just not 100% sure if I stay on phase 1 until I have 30lbs left to lose.

I would stay on induction until you go into ketosis and are losing weight, when it's moving, then you slowly add in more carbs and monitor how you react to them.

I have followed a really good tip from a member to better track your veggies to meet your 12-15 net catbs that are recommended and it makes a huge difference.Put all your veggies in the snacks section,it makes it so much easier to see if you need to add more or cut back.

Restaurants Without Nutritional Information
Broken down by ingredients is a good start, estimate your portion size, then add in a good tablespoon or two each for oil, sauces, sugar, etc. that you can't see on the plate but are definitely there.
