I am just finishing my first week of induction. Do you stay in the induction phase until you have 30 lkbs or less to lose then go to phase 2.

Have you read the books? or online information. I would suggest doing that so you understand what the program truly is about.

I agree with mummydee. Go to atkins dot com and do the free lessons. The Atkins way of eating is more than just induction.

I would also avoid the 'ATKINS' products while in induction.. yes they say they are good for phase 1 but the alcohol sugars in their bars and shakes do stall some people, including myself... and maybe you. Don't take the chance with them till you're further along and well into ketosis.

Thanks for the info. Yes I have the Atkins books and I have read it. My personal trainer has recommended this diet and has talked to me about it. I was just not 100% sure if I stay on phase 1 until I have 30lbs left to lose.

I would add in more veggies, you need 20 net gms of carbs, good carbs, this is necessary for fibre and nutrients. Cut out the bars, They won't help you and may stall you from going into ketosis. The rest of your food looks good,
I would stay on induction until you go into ketosis and are losing weight, when it's moving, then you slowly add in more carbs and monitor how you react to them.

I have followed a really good tip from a member to better track your veggies to meet your 12-15 net catbs that are recommended and it makes a huge difference.Put all your veggies in the snacks section,it makes it so much easier to see if you need to add more or cut back.
