Hello everyone, Ashanti from Barrie. Fall is truly here and it is getting chilly. I see a parka in my near future. Tomorrow is Day 8 and time to weigh in and find out how I did. Good thing I love meat, greens, eggs, mayo, tuna and lemon juice. Combinations of the above are all I have had this week. I can tell something is happening because I had to take a glass of water and psyllium today. I need results of some kind to give me confidence and incentive to continue. As you can imagine at my age (I am 68 and weighed 248 pounds on Monday October 14) I have tried an enormous number of diets. In fact, I in effect dieted myself up to that weight and here I am trying once again.

Welcome back !! and lets make this time the time the scales go down instead of up! It looks like you're off to a good start this week, just make sure you do eat 20 net gms of carbs, you need it, lots of good veggies for the nutrients.

Too many people have the misconception that Atkins is all about eating tons of bacon and no veggies or fruit. Well, fruit is eliminated for the beginning, but I find at this time of year all we get are fresh apples so it's easy to leave them out for a few weeks.

Veggies especially dark greens have lots of fibre and will help you not need to take extra psyllium.

Thanks. I am having a hard time eating enough carbs. I should increase my greens. Starting today I will do just that. Is that why I didn't lose anything my second week? Two days away from weigh in for third week. I do not feel any lighter, I do not look any thinner, my clothes are not any looser. What on earth can I do if I get on the scales and on my third week of Induction I am standing still.

hig fiber low carb
fruit and lots of water. I find when we are camping; I have the same problem and need more exercise then also.
