Ok so what should my percentages be on Adkins? looked couldnt find info and I have the book....So sad I know. My eye sight sucks for reading small print so HELP PLEASE ANYONE. how much, protien, how much fat.....

The Atkins site mentioned 50% of calories derived from fat, 45% from protein and 5% from carbohydrate. I have a stubborn metabolism and am doing a 5 day fat fast which is beginning to move me into ketosis and weight loss. However, this is not recommended for more than 3-5 days. During this phase, I am at 80-85% fat, 10-12% protein and the rest in carbs. which is around 5%.

Tomorrow or Sunday I will switch back to regular induction.

Are you sure that's what the Atkins site says? I've been a member over there for 8 years and I've never seen that. It has been pounded into us, though, that our percentages should be 60-70% fat, 30-35% protein, and the rest in carbs.

Ya that is what my book says also ,but there are diff. sites that show higher amounts. I'm just thankful for all the help and great ideas. Thanks Rainrshine and CRM1981.I finally found my atkins book in the attic in boxes I haven/t been in for a long while.

Sounds like me. I did Atkins years ago and lost easily, now the pounds are stubborn. I switched to the fat fast keto diet and it kick started me back to fat burning. As we age it does seem to be much more difficult. I don't know why it went to net carbs but I do know too many sugar alcohols do cause stalls. I never counted calories before either. I just ate protein and fat and lost weight.
