I read this article an live by it everyday......it helped me lose 96lbs.

"A nice easy walk will improve your health
"Sitting for long periods of time — when you don't stand up, don't move at all — tends to cause changes physiologically within your muscles," says Phys Ed columnist Gretchen Reynolds
"You stop breaking up fat in your bloodstream, you start getting accumulations of fat ... in your liver, your heart and your brain. You get sleepy. You gain weight. You basically are much less healthy than if you're moving
If you can stand up every 20 minutes — even if you do nothing else — you change how your body responds physiologically."
You will lose weight, you lessen your chance of heart disease, and you will improve your brain. But if you can do nothing else, stand up!"
Even wiggling your toes or fidgeting— has a cumulative effect on body weight
If you really want to treat your body right you should try to drink small gulps frequently, particularly while exercising.

I disagree with the previous poster....a healthy diet includes some fat....

Fat is far more satiating than carbs, so if you have cut down on carbs and feel ravenous, this is a sign that you haven't replaced them with sufficient amounts of healthy fat..a couple of avocado slices, a tbsp. of Olive Oil for cooking, fatty fish like herring, tuna, salmon, . Sardines and anchovies, black olives. Avoid trans fats and saturated fats and chose monounsaturated fats or polyunsaturated fats. Walnuts, pine nuts, almonds, flaxseeds and pumpkin seeds are abundant in omega-3 fats just to name a few.

Some fat is necessary for the body to absorb nutrients. Certain vitamins, including A, D, E, K and carotenoids need fatty acids to be absorbed into the body, according to the National Institutes of Health.

Set your target weight to a BMI of 19, and plan to spreadsheet your calories for the rest of your life trying to get there. Don't fret about not ever getting there, you will get closer than you might imagine you could. The diet calendar here gives a nice spreadsheet view, whether you target an rdi, or target controlling food - exercise. The spreadsheet lets you review the recent week or two, and plan the next day or so. Don't try to lie to the spreadsheet either. The spreadsheet will alert you when you are heading for trouble before your weight will. I skip the spreadsheet when travel makes it impractical, but get back on it as soon as possible to undo the travel excess. Spreadsheet your budget too! And your retirement / college / house savings plan! Oh, I almost forgot. I use the spreadsheet to try to keep protein 20% of my calorie intake also.

Drink lots of water! You can overdrink water, but it's not likely!

It helps fill you, flush out your system, and keep you healthy and hydrated.

Get your carbs from fresh veg and fruits. Cut out bad carbs by not eating bread, pasta, rice, anything with sugar in.

Its not while watching that gets me, its the frustration of a bad first half and the 15 minute rush to the kitchen and then the depression at the end of the game when we snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.....GOYG!O2BAG!
Let's do this!
