I can't remember for sure off hand but I don't think modern dwarf wheat is technically considered GMO. But the techniques they used to create modern wheat is gawd awful.

At some point in the future I would be happy to try the einhorn(?) wheat based bread.

But, you know, even ancient wheat was a turn for the worse for health. Preserved Egyptian corpses are riddled with dental cavities and other ailments. Dr. Eades did a blog post and mentioned it.

Were the nutritionists of today right about their ideas of the ideal diet, the ancient Egyptians should have had abundant health. But they didn’t. In fact, they suffered pretty miserable health. Many had heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and obesity – all the same disorders that we experience today in the ‘civilized’ Western world. Diseases that Paleolithic man, our really ancient ancestors, appeared to escape.

Here is the one simple answer on why there are countless supposed methods on losing weight. It makes people money. These scam artists will continue to feed you BS because it makes them money. If you believe in an induction phase(sounds creepy), in certain foods being "fattening", in eating several times a day, in not eating after dark, in foods that keep your insulin alkaline so that you're burning fat all day, etc, it benefits the scammers.

Flip through a "health" magazine at the store. You will see advertisements for meal replacements so that you can be eating 5 or more times a day, night time protein, pre workout protein, post workout protein, pills that burn fat, low glycemic meal replacment powders, etc,. The pages that are not advertisements are simply advertisements in disguise. These magazines still show meal plans that have you eating every 3 hours with at least 2 meals a day being MRP's and sticking the "fat burner" of one of their sponsors in there for good measure. This keeps the sponsors happy and the industry is making millions. I mean it's obvious, there are countless health and bodybuilder magazines while many others are going out of business. People are duped daily.

Now, not all of this is relevant to LC but if people believe LC is special(besides the benefit it can have on reducing calories), they will buy the books that show the steps people need to take and the low carbs supplements. I mean, LC seems pretty simple but people seem to need the books. Reddarin has one in his avatar.

I forgot my point. If these publications and "Doctors" told everyone the truth, they would lose millions. This is why they want people in the dark about CICO. They will feed you BS like "you're different". No, you may have different tendencies with certain foods, but once you find your maintenance and eat below it, you will make progress.

There's always been gluten intolerance and celiac, though it's somewhat worse now due to GMO and regular hybridization creating new gluten proteins that break down into ever more sensitizing fragments. People have always died from it, but now doctors understand what causes it.

When I unintentionally gave up wheat for a few days some years back, my arthritis-like pain went away, just like that. No more canker sores. No more swollen feet. I never really had arthritis, even though at the time it seemed like I had both osteo and rheumatoid arthritis.

I sure do, since you're doing your danged best to hurt as many women on this site as possible, and drive as many members off the site as possible. That's a standard recommendation for goal-setting. However, since you don't know anything about standard counseling techniques, you wouldn't know anything about that.

Stop stalking me. You must lead a truly pathetic, impotent life to hang out on a diet site and stalk women there, even though you have been banned repeatedly.

Lyle MacDonald makes money selling books, so according to your standards, that means he is a money-grubbing liar.

So your point is that since you are not "different" either, your method is a failure?

Apparently you still don't get it. You made up a daily macro intake that was NOT LC, but claimed it was so you could shoot it down for the parts that weren't LC. That is either dishonest or means you didn't understand the diet. Which was it?

Well. You hear about people that are completely uninformed about how a market works but actually meeting someone like that is sadly common.

You have the cart before the horse manure there fella.

Books don't create demand. Demand creates books.

Get that? If ELMM WB, an exceedingly simply bumper sticker approach to weight loss worked so incredibly well then guess what? There wouldn't be a zillion different products for people to buy to try to lose weight with.

Sure, people want an easy route. That is human nature. But human nature can only account for so much before abject failure of what you promote becomes accountable for the huge diet market that exist today.

98% failure rate for 'diets' is a powerful indication that something is missing.

Scam as defined by the inestimable Diablo. You are a very busy person what with safeguarding us all from LC here at FS and the entire world from scam artist, which would be anyone that doesn't toe the Diablo line.

Is it just me or is there a distinct aversion to the free market in a lot of your rhetoric? Isn't it implicit in your diatribe that everyone else needs smarter people to hold their hand so they don't fall victim to these heinous advertisers that make the articles in health magazines possible? Should the magazines run their stuff by you first so they don't trick people into buying stuff that you decided they don't need?

What?!? Books that describe what they are describing??? How callous can these book authors be? They should sell their books with blank pages. That'd teach the saps that bought them a lesson.

Diablo360x wrote:

Hmmmm. Well, you got me there. I cannot imagine why someone would want to educate themselves about what they are doing by reading a book about what they are doing. It is a novel, haha, concept. Wait! I have an excuse. They should read an LC book so if they run into someone like you they have a chance of telling you that you are not the boss of them. Just kidding. They can tell you that without reading a book. But at least reading a book will clue them in on how uninformed you are about LC so that is good.

There is always that pesky library thing you don't seem to have ever heard of. Google it buddy. You'll be amazed.

P.S. I feel I must confess that I did actually buy the book in my avatar. Have mercy. In a fit of thinking I knew what I wanted to spend my money on I bought the book. It was thoughtless of me because buying books about subjects of interest is inherently evil and you've shown me the light on that. Thank diablo for diablo.

150g-200g of protein is not a LC diet. It's a high protein diet, but not LC in the way that LC people follow their diets. Perhaps you unintentionally misrepresented LC as it is practiced while attempting to make an unrelated point. I can accept that.
