I don't know of any. On his other site there is a forum that is mostly macho bodybuilders and lifters, no women or casual athletes.

I recently bought the book after seeing it mentioned on Mark's Daily Apple. It looks interesting. I'm on day 2 of my first cycle. At this point I just want to see what a month will do. A Carb Nite sounds like a lot of fun.

I think we should start a thread for that over here. I'm definitely interested in those things and would love to see more input about it.

It is not an easy "diet" but for some reason it still seems more "doable" - I paid $20 for the digital version of the book that come in pdf form. I am still trying to digest some of the info (pun not intended Wink )

I think it's a diet to consider for people who are already familiar with intermittent fasting and manipulating macros.

I agree Katherine. I only lasted 3 days on low carb with my first try but I am now into day 2 of my second try and feel much stronger this time.

Its basically an ultra-low carb diet. You have 6 days which you should not eat more than 30g of carbs (You want to make it the least possible), and eat lots of fat and protein. On the 7th day you have to normal high fat protein for breakfast/lunch. And after 4pm-5pm for 6 hours you want to eat as much carbs as you can (Carb Nite).

But you have to get the book, he did alot of research, which he cites. He also breaks down why this is different to diets like Atkins or South Beach.

Good Luck

I am on day 7 of Carb Nite Solution. Have found it much easier than expected, am hardly ever hungry and don't crave carbs except maybe around 9 or 9:30 at night. Am looking forward to carb night! However, I gained a pound since yesterday. I'd lost 5, now a net 4. I didn't eat anything wrong, no carbs. Is this normal?

your brain needs carbs to function at full potential. But 30 gms a day of good carbs is enough.
sounds like an interesting plan.
would making the 7th night a Saturday and drinking you're carbs work? lol... Wink

Nah, no alcohol (so I understand) but since I don't drink I didn't pay much attention to that part so you'd need the book. And pretty much no fruit, even on carb night, although he does reocmmend in some of his blog posts a cherry turnover or applie pie ala mode. Also to eat a banana to prevent leg cramps. BUT you can have almost anything you want on carb night. My first one is coming up and I've been told by others NOT to cook too much and have leftovers and have read about people actually eating themselves sick because they could. So . . . going to try to eat a few things that I love -- my comfort foods-- but keep it reasonable. I sure hope this works! I've never been able to stay on any other diet -- not even this long.

That's kinda contradictory , no? No fruit even on carb nite but then you can have a cherry turnover or apple pie ? I'll definitely have to get the book , this doesn't make sense.
I eat approx. 20 net carb gms a day right now of only complex carbs and only berries for fruit. So 30 gms would be a bonus. But this Carb Nite is interesting except for the time thing, i very rarely eat in the evenings and when i do it's very lite, salads and yogurt. Have to think on this and read up on his theory.

I'm on day1...downloaded the book and got started..I'm intrigued with the goal of fat loss rather than weight loss...this is a big part of the diet...if you gain a bit...it may be muscle...and the actual fat is being lost....I have lost weight in the past and am not big now...5'3" 130 lbs....but I am 40 percent fat.

I'm on day 6 - not a problem at all staying away from carbs ( I'm pretty much gluten intolerant and rarely eat heavy carbs - except fruit) I've not been hungry at all - I do miss my fruit - However - I'm bloated beyond belief! My clothes are tighter now than when I began - I drink gallons n galloons of water daily & take psyllium husk to boot! My Carb Nite is Thursday n kinda worried about looking at the scale... ANyone else experience this bloat problem?

I am starting carb nite today, with day 1. I have been low carb for several months but got bored and stalled, so I'll try this and I agree carb night sounds fun. I have read that you should do the first half of carb night low fat/high carb and then at the end have something higher fat and carb, like premium ice cream. I'm down with that Smile

So I thought I'd check in and see how everybody is doing with their Carb Nite program. I had my Carb Nite on Tuesday and am still not back down to the weight I was that morning, which is a little discouraging, but at the same time, my clothes feel pretty good. How are you all doing?
