I am able to stay in control when I weigh every morning. Sometimes I weigh at night just out of curiosity but I don't rely on the number. Only the AM number gets my attention. For me, it can take 2-7 days for a bad eating day to catch up to the scale and by then, I am already working on the evil doings Smile. It usually takes another 2-3 days to get the extra off.

I agree, Peaches. I had a doctor tell me years ago, "weigh yourself in the morning, after relieving yourself, and in the nude to get your true body weight" and I've followed his advice ever since. Getting weighed multiple times a day just means you're weighing what you've eaten and drunk, which can shoot holes in your self confidence not to mention your motivation.

I changed my view of the weigh in. I quit weighing in and am just focusing on the diet and exercise right now. I will weigh in - next month and then again at the end of my challenge. I think if you are on a "diet" or a life style change program, as I prefer to call it, then focus on doing the diet perfectly and forget the scale. One of the most discouraging weight loss experiences is getting on that scale and seeing no change or a gain, and it can really mess with your head. My advice to anyone: weigh in once per month when doing the diet. Weigh in once per week or more often when the goal weight is achieved to aid in maintainng the loss. When?-First thing in the morning with no clothing or shoes.
Stay strong, stay focused.

Start weight 259 pounds. Ultimate goal: 120 pounds.

I weigh at least every morning and often before bed as well. I like to see the fluctuations with requard to how hydrated I am and how much I ate. I only record weight on Monday morning weigh ins though.

Every morning after doing #2 and in the nude. Consistency is key.

I see the scale as my friend. It will let me know if I'm messing up and makes me feel good when I lose weight. It's comforting because if I stop weighing it's because I'm messing up and don't want to face it. That is worrisome in itself. So weighing every morning keeps me stable and focused.

I weigh in after my business in the A.M. Weight changes will fluctuate in three day cycles. I only record the lowest readings that I achieve, I give little regard to the ups and downs

Every Monday morning. I normally have a big weekend and therefore weighing in on the Monday is my true weight loss or gain.
(Also my girlfriend weighs in on the same day)

I weigh in once a week! It lets me get a surprise @ the end of the week. I find the daily flucuation depressing so I like to check at the end of the week!

You should try weighing yourself once a week! It's quite motivating and everytime you walk past the scale you'll remind yourself to stick to your health regimen! The daily fluctuation due to water weight, food and bowel movments is quite depressing, so try weighing in at the end of the week! Even if you end up gaining, you'll feel motivaton to do better the next week rather than uneeded daily discouragement. Good Luck!! Very Happy Very Happy
