If it works for you then great. I don't do it every week (and some weeks I have more than one). IMO a controlled "cheat" every now and again is better than an uncontrolled binge later.

i eat some organic dark chocolate everyday as well but all within my caloric limit

now and then generally once a week i go off the reservation and eat loads of good and 'bad' stuff going over my calorie allowance by up to 1500 cals. I treat it as a re-feed/leptin reset and it doesn't seem to affect me negatively and gives my metabolism a kick start.

IT ALSO TASTES AND FEELS GREaT!

I follow the 5:2 way of eating (2 fast days, 5 normal eating days). On regular days I eat what I want. Overall, I do eat a lot of veggies/lean meats, fresh whole foods but I also do eat some junk those days. Once in a while I have a day where I just eat anything and everything.

I cheat on the weekends but I will be changing that soon because every Monday I am up 1-2 pounds from Friday's weigh-in. On Wednesday, I am where I was on Friday and by Friday, things start looking up (or down in this case) and I am usually down another 1-2 pounds. If I have only 1 cheat day, I may not have to get back on the up-down roller coaster.

We will see how it goes. I lack discipline on the weekends. Way too much temptation Wink.

I stick with a cheat "meal" twice a week rather than a whole day. When I do that I binge. I usually have one on the weekend and another on a week day but it usually doesn't put me over my RDI (or not by much) that way.

I stop counting and worrying about two nights every 3 - 4 weeks. That way I can have people over, do burgers, chips, a few beers, dessert. I weigh more the next day, but it's typically just food weight and drops back down to where I was within a few days.
