I have been stuck at 143 for a week. Can someone look at my diet calendar and see what my problem is? I am wondering if it is coffee or too much dairy or what.
I walk every night for 30 minutes and I exercise for 15 minutes in the morning doing situps, pushups etc.
Thanks!

Your food diary seems a bit...umm...hit and miss--as in you didn't record everything you've been eating on most days and nothing on some days. Hard to tell exactly what might be the problem without knowing exactly what you've been eating everyday... Are you eating 12-15 carbs a day in veggies alone for a start? Want to help, but can't really without seeing full info!

My diet journal isn't showing up? I had a few days that I forgot to record stuff because I wasn't home much. But I make sure the veggies are the main part of my meal with some food. I think I ran into a problem on Saturday though. I went to Village inn and got an omelet and when I got home to put it in the system, it said 65 carbs or somethign like that! THen I read people saying that VI uses pancake mix to make their omelets fluffier. : ( What a fool!

You may be eating too few calories. You should set your RDI and then stick to that. By eating so few calories, you fool your body and it becomes harder to diet. You will soon be so hungry you just can't do it any more or may become sick.Get a good diet, (ie Weight Watchers) set your RDI and then stay within those limits. The laws of nutrition will guarantee the weight loss.

Seems to be showing up, but for instance some of the days in the last week show things like this: 2 days of 240 something total calories, 1 day of 950 something, and one day blank. One day had over 1000. Things like that. As I mentioned, seemed missing and/or incomplete.

I definately noticed there weren't 12-15 carbs a day from allowed veggies, if nothing else. Making sure that is something you absolutely get every day is important for weight loss. How much water are you drinking, also? Could be many other things, hard to tell from lack of entries.

Have you been doing the same exercise routine for a while? Maybe try adding on 15 more minutes or walking or 15 more minutes to your morning routine, or change it up completely and do a different type of exercise. Also, make sure you are recording everything, getting enough calories in to keep you healthy, and drinking your water. Good luck!!

I would add in more veggies and cut out the Atkins bars, even though they say some of them are good for all phases, the sweetener in them can cause you to go into a stall, and watch out for things like the peanut butter which also contains sugar.

How do you adjust the calculation for RDI so that it is more than 1 lb a week? I put in 1500 calories a day but don't really know if that is correct or not.

I am 145 and want to lose 15 lbs. I exercise every day and would be considered active.

Took a look at your foods, doesn't look like you are getting anywhere near 12-15 veggie carbs nor the 1500-1800 calories suggested for females. What phase are you in? Cottage cheese is not allowed until rung 5 in OWL. Have you read the book The New Atkins for a New You? Or done the lessons over at atkins.com? NANY has a chart on page 42 on how much protein you should be getting for your height. Sweeteners are limited to 3 per day. You need to count those found in the bars also. One thing I find useful in tracking my veggie carbs each day is to plug them into the snack section and not into whatever meal I ate them in. That way I can just glance at the snack section and see how many veggie carbs I have and not have to pick through the whole list.

I think I need to get the new book. I feel like I am eating a ton of veggies but I think I am eating a ton MORE THAN I USED TO EAT. HAHA
So it seems like a lot. I will bump up the calories too. Yes I have been eating cottage cheese. I will go get the book tonight so I don't ask stupid questions. HAHA
For the other questions, I drink a ton of water and sometimes coffee but that is it. I don't use sweeteners of any kind.
I am going to exercise more too. That should help. Smile
THANK YOU ALL!

I don't see a way to change it. May need to contact customer service to see if there is a way. If you are on Atkins, the recommendation for calories for women is 1500-1800 and males 1800-2000.

Gemini, most people that I've talked to that have had the most success on Atkins follow the 2002 Edition called Dr Atkins NEW Diet Revolution, not the new book. Dr Atkins actually wrote the 2002 version shortly before his death. The latest book has been written by several different people.

Momsalawyer, they won't let you change it mostly due to legal reasons. However, you can change your RDA (if you're counting calories as well as carbs on Atkins) to a lower number.

I can't find anything about taking extra fiber, like psyllium husk caps. Is it ok to do.. I stalled out hard in my 3rd week of induction, and I think its cause i'm constipated. I lost 30 lbs 10 years ago on Atkins, I get about 1200 calories a day, having trouble getting more than that in....any suggestions

Record ALL your meals. Stick with the FatSecret generated RDI, don't go too low. That's all. If you've only been stuck for a week, then don't worry about it. Just do what you're supposed to. Don't under-eat.

Megadre, I take 2 tsp a day of pure, unflavored psyllium husk...have for a long time. That's along with all the fiber I get from veggies. It makes a huge difference and is natural, not artificial.
