I see a lot of posts about saddlebags, but that's not my problem. I have issues with legs and inner thighs that grow the more I gain weight. How are you dealing with this? I know I can't be the only one with the inner thigh issue. I believe P90 worked for me years ago when I was oh so good at losing weight and maintaining my size eight. I'm going to try that again.

Oh, and squats hurt my knees, so I can't do them. The last time I did a plié squat routine for about a week, my knee went out from just sitting on the couch.

Jumping rope is no problem (go figure). I started and then stopped, so I have to get my butt back in gear on that also.

If that worked for you once, good idea to try it again. I do various exercises for my inner thighs. Strength training exercises have helped taper them down.

Thanks. I went back to P90 for a short time about three/four months ago, but the knee was doing weird things since I was trying new exercises like the plié squats, and I stopped. Plus I let being busy get in the way. I will go back to the P90.

Out of six girls, I'm the only one with this major problem. I have my mother's legs. I know they can be toned - I've done it before. But it just sucks. So ends my vent for the day. =/

Climb the stairs 2 at a time. It's free. Leg muscles are huge and will burn calories and help you to burn fat. At the same time it will build new muscle tissue all around your thighs. Taking the stairs 2 at a time is a lower form of impact on your joints. Take your time to avoid injury.

PeeFat... interesting and would love to give it a try, however, as with Warm, knees are an issue. Any other ideas. Thanks.

Ah, the stairs. I do remember those. Smile I am currently in Barbados long-term, so there's not much chance of stairs here unless I'm in the mall or in an office building, or in a house with two stories, which is available, but not the norm here. I work from home, and no stairs here. We have a two-family house, but separate apartments with our tenants upstairs. I do miss climbing up to my sanctuary at night in my last house in the States.

But saying that, stairs are fine on my knees. No problem there. It's weird, I know. Arthritis runs in the family, so we've all had that funny, laughable cracking knee from teenagers. It's not laugable now, however. Smile

I also carry a lot of weight in my inner thighs down to my knees. Hate it! It's the #1 reason I don't wear skirts or shorts and I can't wait to free myself from pants once I lose and tone more! I've been doing overall cardio and strength training in a circuit training program (Body Revolution) for the past 10 weeks, plus walking and hiking since January 2013. The program does have a lot of squats, however, so it's probably not an ideal program for you. I can tell I'm toning up overall, but I'm afraid those stubborn thighs/knees will be the last place to tone up. Grrrr!

Hopefully you can find some good moves for you that tone all the leg areas (quads, hamstrings, calves and glutes) but that don't involve squatting, and mix that up with a regular cardio workout a few times a week and a healthy diet and hopefully with overall fat loss you will see some of those thighs melt away. Good luck!

Thanks for the motivation, all.

I have some weight on my knees as well. That needs to go also. It's not terrible, but it needs to go!

P90 is the original Power 90 kick-butt bootcamp DVDs with Tony Horton. There have been a few updates since the original, but it's what I have on hand, and it works fine for me for now.

If you can find the exercises from Brazil butt lift ...it works! It really helped reshape my thighs and butt. I was almost always a size 8 until I had back to back pregnancies. I'm back to my lower weight but now I'm a size 4. Usually I would fit in clothes but the waist would be big because my butt and thighs were big. I thought I couldn't change my genetics. Strength training (from P90X) and cardio from insanity really helped too. Brazil butt lift was the only thing that left me hurting (the high and tight video with a flex band) and I really saw a difference in my legs slimming down. Unfortunately there is some squatting involved but Peefat's advice on the stairs really works too. As my weight came off I found my knees were better too.

Have you found the exercise Brazil butt lift? I would like to gain tone but not build heavy, thick looking legs. Is this possible? Also need suggestions for upper body with the same philosophy.

I've found bike riding to be a good way to tone the thighs that's pretty low impact on the knees.

Yeppers. You're right about that. Began riding a recumbent bike (much easier on the lady parts) when I had a total knee replacement. Did it for physical therapy, now it's a part of my daily cardio and is awesome when you want to do interval training. But that's another story for me and my heart.

I, too, have large thighs. They've always been big. I would like to tone them up some and lose some of the cellulite. I am curious on everyone's thoughts regarding to Brazil Butt Lift dvds. I wanted to see what the exercises consisted of and how challenging they were. I've been doing the P90 for awhile and would like to find something to assist with my thighs.
