Motivation is difficult at times specially when coupled with pain. However you sound as though you have the tools to do this. Perhaps you just need to adapt them to meet your needs at the moment till your back gets stronger and the pain eases.
One day at a time, one step at a time is how we all move forward!

I see it all the time and it is becoming more evident. There are old people in their 70s or even 80s who keep themselves active who are fitter than people in their 20s.
