Excercise calendar resting and sleeping calories seem way off

At age 54 and 270 lbs. I need to lose at least 50 lbs. While entering my excretes on the calendar (since I'm doing none now) I accept the 8 hours sleeping and 16 hours resting - and it calculates my daily calorie burn at 3305!

I work, so I drive at least 1 hour per day, and I sit at a desk and walk around a bit. If I enter that activity the calorie count goes to 3498.

I know that I don't burn over 3000 calories per day even doing my normal activity. I suppose the calculation is based on a healthy low fat lean muscle specimen, I could see a 270 lbs. body builder burning 3300 calories a day by just breathing, but that number is unrealistic by my accounting.

Yes, it sucks. I would leave it at resting and sleeping and don't add anymore activity Smile I would pay more attention to weekly calories. If you are losing each week, they you have it right, if you aren't losing at all, try reducing your weekly calorie total and see how that works. Your body is different metabolically then us so you just need to find the right amount for you.

You can look up your BMR..... and work from that. All measurements are averages though so mrspackrat is right in finding your own level. If my FS figures were right Id have lost twice as much as I have lol. Enter the excercise you 'deliberately' set out to do, bearing in mind the BMR figure and you should lose weight! If not....... either you are not entering ALL your food.........or you need to adjust some more
